Our second break at this hotel & can't wait to make three! Hotel was immaculately clean & so warm & toastie. All staff were extremely pleasant, helpful (we'd forgotten our phone charger & the receptionist brought hers in for us to use) & knowledgeable on the area with suggestions for walks etc. We ate in the hotel both nights &...

This was our third Christmas at the Fowey Hotel and we were not disappointed. In fact each year has got better and better. The service and friendliness of staff can only be described as outstanding and the whole experience is something to cherish. We always have the same room so know what to expect and makes comparisons so much easier....

Lovely welcoming hotel. Food amazing and staff couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel is over 100 years old and has great charm but don't expect high tech rooms or bathrooms. Who needs these anyway when the view over Fowey and sea the are so magnificent? A fantastic hotel.

This was a planned surprise break for my wifes.birthday I book- for a couple of days but wished I had booked longer. The welcome from the staff was fantastic a guy come out of the hotel and directed me to my reserved parking space and then carried our bags into the hotel. An old style of service that should be...

One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in, spotless room and good quality accessories in the bathroom, tea/coffee making well above average. The staff at reception were top notch and could not be faulted. The hotel is walking distance to the town centre and the views are exceptional. The food however was disappointing,we had paid in advance for the...

I have always loved this hotel but won't be staying again as it refused to extend my hotel gift vouchers or let me book a room even though they had expired by only a few days !!! As this is a family owned hotel and not a chain I thought as a gesture of goodwill they could have been a...

Booked this at the start of the week as finale dinner. The hotel is a bit 'tired' & in need of renovation.Good position overlooking the harbour.Private dining room with good food albeit spoilt a little initially by pushy overzealous waiter pressing us for order almost as soon as we arrived. Also need to be a mountain goat to get to it...from...

We stayed here for 3 nights, which was clearly not long enough. Our room overlooked the river and sea view and the town of Polruan... stunning sunrise views! Hotel staff very friendly and explained very well the surrounding countryside and beautiful walks. Breakfast selection very good. Next time we'll comeback but for longer.

Attractive building in a great location. The hotel is very nicely decorated inside and out, and spotlessly clean. The room we stayed in was lovely, comfy bed, nice en suite bathroom, good TV and strong, free WiFi signal. We stayed on a B&B deal, and the cooked breakfast was pretty damn special. We also had cream teas which were very...

We stayed here for 2 nights for the sole purpose of 'doing nothing' following the hectic Christmas period. Fowey out of season was perfect for this. Quaint and picturesque, with good walking-although a lot of the shops were closed- but fortunately not the bars and restaurants. It's also not for anyone with mobility issues, as everything is at the top...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Made famous by the celebrated authoress, Daphne du Maurier, and ranked as one of the UK’s most desirable locations, the pretty Cornish town of Fowey, is a delight to explore. Clusters of characterful buildings, cottages and shops tumble down the hillside to rub shoulders with those stacked along the curving main street, which runs parallel to the Fowey estuary. The Fowey Hotel, with its wonderful views over the town, estuary and the sea is the perfect place from which to explore it all! There's plenty to do and see too. Shopping is fun, with a variety of independent specialist shops, galleries and delicatessens - with not a high street name in sight! The town is a most pleasant walk from end to end; to be taken at a reasonable dawdle, in order not to miss a bit as there are some wonderful surprises just round every corner. From here you can venture east or west along the South West coast path and walk for miles or drive no more than a short distance, to visit the numerous sights and attractions situated in this lush, verdant area of Cornwall. The Fowey Hotel is part of Richardson Hotels of Distinction. ... more   less
