We entered the pub hoping to watch the 6 nations rugby match between Wales and Italy. Unfortunately the only tv available was in a room being used to accomodate a birthday party. After making the necessary pleasentries we were welcomed in to watch the match. The atmosphere in the pub was electric. We didnt eat but the party goers certainly...

Beautifully positioned with great views. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. The room we had for 2 nights was well appointed. We ate dinner in the restaurant both nights and the food was of a high standard and well presented.

Just had a two night Travel zoo break at the Old Ferry Inn. What a hidden treasure! The rooms were quirky (it is a very old inn) and spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and efficient and the owner and his wife welcoming and informative. The food was amazing, with an innovative menu executed perfectly. My husband went so far as...

Stayed here on the Travelzoo offer, excellent value for what you get. Had a lovely room (room 7), with brilliant views over the river and the ferry! Room was comfortable, bathroom was a bit tight, but fine for a short stay. The food was delicious on both nights, particularly the local mussels which I would highly recommend. Breakfast was great...

Stayed on 2 night travelzoo deal. Located in a lovely peaceful setting overlooking the River Fowey. Fantastic views from lounge window. Great food. Stayed in room 2, with a small step down into room. Floor was very uneven - this due to age of building. Room was rather small, could have done with a large bathroom toilet area. Otherwise good

Just returned from The Old ferry inn had three days on Travel Zoo offer which was well worth it, very steep hill and steep steps to rooms so if like me you have back or knee problems its not for you, rooms a bit tired, bathroom sink cracked and very small bathroom, clean, polite staff, good food, but as I said...

The situation and friendly welcome made a good first impression. The parking is a little awkwardly placed so it may be best to leave luggage at the inn and turn round to get to the parking just up the hill. Second impressions were uninspiring - faded pictures, dusty artificial flowers and chipped paint - so easy to put right. Our...

Lovely traditional pub especially sitting in the bar even if sometimes more cramped that restaurant/hitel area which does offer lovely river views. With unspoilt character, friendly staff and owners, I genuinely can't fault the sunday roast and never get bored of it as it's always different, authentic, great food. Compliments to Pascal the chef. It's nearly getting to the point...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on the banks of the Fowey River Estuary in the picturesque village of Bodinnick, The Old Ferry is a quintessential Cornish Inn that has been providing accommodation and refreshment for over 400 years. We overlook the Bodinnick to Fowey ferry which can trace its roots back to the 13th Century, and 'Ferryside' the former family home of Daphne du Maurier. The Inn with its relaxed and warm welcome has many traditional features including a wood burner and stone slate floor, and is full of old photographs, nautical bric-a-brac and memorabilia. The perfect place to while away time during the winter months. Our panoramic restaurant gives fantastic river views towards the town of Fowey and the village of Polruan. There are also south facing outside terraces which also have splendid estuary views, and capture the sun all day, a perfect retreat for a summers day. ... more   less
