4 Of us stayed in 2 rooms for 3 nights. Both rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. Room 4 could have a better heater and does suffer a bit with the traffic noise outside.
Breakfasts were were very nice and freshly cooked to order.
We were stuck in Dereham for a bit while our car was being repaired, and came across The George. Dog friendly, quirky decor, lovely staff and amazing food! I had sea bass, my husband had risotto - both were delicious!

There was a party of 8 of us who all went here as a Surprise Wedding Anniversary Meal, and the whole Group all had different meals and everyone thought and commented that the food was excellent, and our Waitress was lovely and so helpful.
Great place for food and drink. The dinners and breakfasts were excellent. Quality food, well cooked.
Staff are friendly and pleasant.

A large (29 of us) party meal at the George on a Saturday night.
There were a couple of mix ups with the menu which was probably more our fault than the restaurant's but we all enjoyed our food.

Ive never done a taxi from station, about £25 approx. Although you can get a no. 8 bus direct from road outside station 1/2 hourly service. At Dereham its a2 min walk to the George hotel.Hope this helps.

Hi, we live half way between the two, but-
Dereham to Diss - difficulty on public transport - bus to Norwich 45/50 minutes then bus 45 minutes or train to Diss 20 minutes. As a previous reply said - Better to stay in Diss!
