Staying here for a few weeks whilst working at the local Hospital. Everything about the Hotel has been first class! Rooms are spotless and comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Breakfast is excellent. Bar meals are reasonably priced and very good quality, so much so that I haven't eaten anywhere else during my stay. Management and staff are friendly and helpful,...

I arranged an 80th Birthday lunch for 32 guests for my mother. All worked out extremely well. The communication from the hotel was excellent, I was able to email on a regular basis with updates on the party as I live a distance away. On the day, the staff were extremely accommodating to us and allowed us to decorate the...

Stayed for one night as we attending a friends party who lived nearby, hotel chosen for its location. Our room was on the top floor and was quite small with bed being pushed up against the wall. This wasn't a problem as we were only staying overnight and not the reason why I am writing this review. The only positive...

We had a 80th birthday party at Borough,. I cannot fault the staff and management they really could not do enough. The food was delicious and although the restaurant was quiet with it being a Monday it was a lovely atmosphere. I have no hesitation in recommending it. They really helped to make it a night to remember. Super .

Met up with 10 friends who were at the North Staffs Poly and played rugby together in the late 1970's. Talk about 'fit for purpose'- friendly, inexpensive, clean, brilliantly located hotel providing a good breakfasts and with Courage Directors in the bar. There is an excellent curry house within two minutes walk and Newcastle boasts some great pubs as well....

I stay at the Borough Arms regularly when working in Newcastle under Lyme and I am very satisfied. Car parking is ample and Reception is open for long hours. Prices are very reasonable and, for the price, you get good value for money. Rooms are clean and beds comfortable. It is quiet at night so you can sleep well. Breakfasts...

Although staying only for one night, we would have loved to have stayed longer. Without putting on airs and graces, the hotel had that top class feel, and the price was very acceptable. Breakfast and evening meal were exceptionally good.

I had my wedding here on the 7th of October 2016, I'm pleased to say that the staff could not have served us better, Emma who planned the venue from start to finish took care of everything right the way through the day. Mr Sheikh the General manager made us feel welcomed and valued. I'd also like to compliment the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Borough Arms Hotel and Restaurant is one of the oldest established hotels in the Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent areas, with history dating back to 1783. The hotel is very much of the style associated with a traditional English town centre coaching inn, yet has been sensitively and subtly refined to offer the comfort and modern standards demanded by today's visitors. Independently owned and managed, the hotel retains many period features and takes great pride in offering a very personal service. As a valued guest, you may be confident that we will do our utmost to ensure your comfort, whether you are staying in one of our 40 centrally heated, en-suite rooms, visiting us for a meal in the restaurant, or using our conference and banqueting facilities. ... more   less
