We booked a two night stay at Lindeth Howe, having arrived in Bowness area early we walked around the town and to Ambleside,as we were not due to check in till 3.00pm we found the hotel early at 2.15 met by the receptionist and asked if we wished to check in, which we did! We were given an informative tour...

Enjoyed a weekend break at this hotel. Public areas very smart but room we had was rather tired with dated decor, all a bit worn out! Breakfast was average when you consider the price and the 4 star ratings. Better breads and coffee could improve this. Very professional staff team though and would maybe return if we could pick a...

I stayed here on a Tuesday night and arrived around 18.00. Mark who was on reception duty was a most welcoming host, a quick tour round the hotel and its varied & extensive facilities was provided which was really helpful and a great introduction. The hotel is well decorated with very pleasing furnishings throughout. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed, spotlessly...

This was our first trip to Windermere and indeed to this charming little hotel. The hotel is situated within walking distance of Bowness-on-Windermere and you pass by the water ferries etc on route to the town, a taxi from Windermere train station is around £10. On our arrival we were greeted by a pleasant member of staff who gave us...

Another mini break to one of my favourite hotels. As usual and expected the staff cannot do enought for you on arrival. The food was up to their normal standard, the only minor criticism was that dinner on the first night took nearly two hours from start to finish, which is most unusual, whilst you are never rushed this was...

Don't get there before 3pm, they won't book you in, simple! Apart from that, the booking in experience was very good and we were shown around the lounge and dining areas. Our room was located on the 2nd floor with views over the side garden and partial lake views. Huge bed and plenty of storage space. We had booked a...

The ambience is that of a 100 year old country house whose architecture owes something to the Arts & Crafts movement, but which has moved with the times (largely). The location is quiet and peaceful despite being close to the honeypot of Bowness on Windermere. The feeling which characterised our visit is one of simple and not OTT comfort. The...

We stayed here for 1 night but did not get off to a good start with our room allocated next door to one being refurbished however after complaint we were quickly upgraded to an executive room. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable with lovely views. The hotel is set in grounds where you can observe many birds, there...

We enjoyed a short stay at this wonderful hotel and if anything our expectations were exceeded. This is simply one of the best UK hotels that I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. From the very beginning, the welcome that the staff offered was superb. Our room was everything that we wanted and the recently re-fitted accessible bathroom...

We have always enjoyed our stays at Lindeth Howe in the past but the last couple of occasions have been let down by the service of their restaurant staff. However this time, we noticed they have made a number of staff changes that made our dining experience an enjoyable one. They were more courteous, attentive and friendly - credit to...
