I just want to start this review by making it clear that I am not somebody who routinely moans about hotels etc - I definitely make the best of holidays and I certainly was not expecting 5* accommodation for £63 a night. I nearly cancelled my booking after reading some of the negative reviews on here, but unfortunately decided it...

Having read the reviews in advance I knew the White House Hotel was going to be bad. Fair play to the White House it was even worse. I could easily repeat all the previous reviews but will save my breath. However, particular highlights were.... no heating or hot water. Not great in the middle of February having done a day...

This hotel is a dirty hovel. The central heating doesn't work so you get a noisy fan heater in the room. The corridor to our room was cluttered with rubbish . The bathroom light constantly flickered when left on. The only bedside light we had didn't work . We had 2 televisions but no remote . The ear pounding disco...

This hotel looked fairly nice on the pics. We was supposed to stay 2 nights but my boyfriend double booked. Thankfully the lady managed to change it and only book us in for one night. Was meant to be £153 for 2 nights but then she told us it was £63 for one night which didn't add up. When we...

This place is hanging, got put in some room saying we had been updated only to find out it was a room joined on to the owners with a door going through, then all we heard was arguing coming from that room. My girlfriend was so scared we had to just leave and find somewhere else to stay. Thanks a...

First I would like to say I looked at all the reviews on here and thought it cannot be that bad!!! I really wanted to be proven wrong. The reality is that this Hotel need to be Modernised totally. The room was clean but very tired. No Heating only a Fan heater in the room not really acceptable these Days...

We were welcomed by an empty bar and restaurant - the lady was nice, but fumbled around for some time as couldn't find our room key. Once the key was found, we battled our way through a small room full of large bags (I struggled to fit my small case through the walkway) and a dirty staircase. The room was...

I would never stay here again nor would I recommend it. Very dirty so full of damp and mould it's overpowering with smell I could smell it for days after. Was so damp there was even a mushroom growing from part of the ceiling on the landing! The shower rail in my room was hung with a rope. Your feet...

Booked to stay at this Hotel ( glorified B & B ) through Booking.com with no option to cancel without payment before reading the reviews, BIG MISTAKE...... it would have been better to have just lost the money for the room and not turned up as it is a complete disaster, dank, dirty and grubby. A cold wet February day...

Really don't understand the bad reviews. Lovely place. Lovely owners and ideal location. Would highly recommend. Right next to the lake. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby. Also nice breakfast included. Will definitely return
