We came to participate in a 50 mile 2 day cross-island walking challenge for a local charity so having a comfortable place to stay was really important. St Maur was lovely, such a nice place run by welcoming helpful staff. A wonderful weekend retreat -- next time we will go to just relax!

Would like to say what a stunning place this is, from first arriving the staff made us most welcome, the room at the top was one of the best we've ever stayed in, the meals also excellent, can't think of anything on the downside to say, highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I have just returned from a four night break at this hotel, we are fully refreshed after being looked after by all the wonderful staff and eating lots of excellent food having a good variety of main meals to choose from each evening. A large and more importantly clean well maintained room was at our disposal with...

We (wife and I) have just returned from a 4-night break. If car park full, park outside on unrestricted road. South-facing and well-maintained garden. Very friendly and helpful owner and staff. Room excellent - huge bed and of course private facilities. Good choice of food at both breakfast and dinner - always well prepared and much thought obviously given to...

Some may regard The St. Maur as a guest house with hotel pretensions whereas it is an hotel whose facilities have been pared down to provide the best possible experience of what's actually important to most guests. The cleaning of our room and replenishment of its goodies was first rate. Our electric shower was not all that powerful but worked...

We returned again to the St Maur in February as we have done for the past fifteen years. We loved it the first time we came and still do. It has changed a lot over those years due to David constantly updating and modernising the rooms to a very high standard. The cleanliness of the rooms and the quality of...

A lovely warm and personal welcome at the St Maur. We stayed here for one night in February as a late valentines/birthday present for myself and my husband. We stayed on a VERY cold evening when it snowed and I was hoping that the B and B wouldn't be cold....!! We walked in and it was nice and toasty and...
