The hotel has nice frontage and there is a nice piano bar ( though it could do with sprucing up a bit). Once through the reception the corridors are a bit gloomy and it is showing its age. One wonders what the tape over the lift button is about as it seems to be working quite normally. The single room...

I have come here in spring the past 4 years, and always have an enjoyable time. Although it is not cheap, I've always found my room very clean & with good facilities. For meals I've usually ate in the bar, as I've found the upstairs restaurant too expensive for me, and dislike very much the burgers restaurant menu downstairs. I...

This was my first ever visit to the Isle of Man and I must admit Douglas was gorgeous in the sunshine. The hotel itself though could definitely do with an update, the decor is very old fashioned and faded. From the outside it promises an Art Deco feel and even in the foyer you are still quite hopeful, it wasn't...

The hotel is obviously being updated, but our sea view room was already finished to a very good standard. Bed luxurious, bedclothes lovely and the room furnished nicely with good facilities. The food ( breakfast and dinner we didn't have lunch ) was first class. We shall definitely visit again.

Once again a sea view room with plenty of space, clean, comfortable and with a new TV. The staff continue to make your stay a pleasure. Centrally situated on the promenade it has the bus service within 100yards and is a 15 minute walk to either the Steam Railway or the Electric Railway.

We stayed here for a sporting event my son was taking part in - needing space for his kit we booked a superior twin room with sea view. The room was spacious but the hotel looks and feels tired: the lift panel was taped on and carpet worn. The breakfast was fine, nothing special, with a range of choices and...

This was my first visit to Isle of Man so I researched a lot of hotels and settled on The Empress. My girlfriend and I booked direct and the process was smooth and professional. We chose one of their 3 Suites as it cost only a little over the double room price and this was a special occasion for us....

Being booked into this hotel by a client, yet again, I wondered if there would have been any improvement since 2015. The answer is...No. In fact if anything slightly worse. Let me explain. I present a lecture to a group of accountants in the Manx Museum starting at 4 but I am conscious of the fact that a flight to...

Overall an ok hotel Room with a sea view was acceptable but plumbing noises and noises from above and around led to little sleep Good tasty breakfast each day but in the main the staff were surly and uncommunicative Don't expect a high speed lift - you will still be waiting Probably would not stay here again
