Enjoyed our anniversary and birthday in the superb Penthouse, with great views from the balcony over the whole of Douglas bay. Moved to a sea view on Saturday due to honeymoon couple already booked into the penthouse. Both rooms with a lot of space and comfortable bed, other furniture in the room so you're not lying on bed all the...

The Empress Conservatory is the real jewel in its crown, so I had wanted to bring my grandmother there. Unfortunately all the tables by the window were already reserved, so we sat at the bar side of the conservatory and ordered bar snacks - which were lovely. The staff were very friendly and catered to fussy eaters! My grandmother loved...

Lovely hotel ti stay and use as a base to go around the island. Food was lovely and room was excellent and very comfortable. Bar area is great with regular piano singer on. Really enjoyed our stay . It's just a short walk from the centre of the town and a short walk to the ferry terminal. Would recommend.

The reception area and bar/lounge area is lovely, very relaxed feeling and comfortable, breakfast is excellent lots of choices. The room was ok just enough room to move around in very clean but not much of a view. But you do spend more time out of the room exploring the island. Over all I would say it is a pleasant...

The afternoon tea experience I had today (23-06-16) was awful. No tea selection (as advertised) other than flavoured tea bags, mr Kipling cakes, jelly and cream, no spoon to eat it with. The sandwiches were lovely. Glad I don't have to go here again

The rooms at the Empress are dated, in adequate and overpriced. The rooms are tight even cramped and need improvement which is a real shame because the location and reception are very good. I have stayed here twice now. There are better hotels at a cheaper price.

Hello Martin S I'm sorry you think the rooms are dated and didn't enjoy the stay with us. We have recently added 43-48" LED televisions with the full Sky Sports and Entertainment packages into our seaview rooms and suites, and will be starting redecoration of these rooms during the quieter days in the autumn. We know they are in need...

The Isle of Man should be renamed Isle of Manners - the people are so friendly, polite and helpful, even the mostly foreign hotel staff - must be in the air. An old building with wonky floors but no creaks and just one lift. The Restaurant not open on Sunday which was not obvious but the Breakfasts were good and...
