The location is excellent, and the main reason we chose this hotel. The rooms lacked ventilation, and were stuffy even in September. Steps in, and lots of different levels,so not suitable for anybody with walking difficulties. Several weird things about the rooms. No shelves or...More
This may be one of the best hotels in Douglas but it does have some challenges, some external, others of its own making. Being a hotel made up of a terrace of originally separate houses means landings are on various levels so rooms aren't necessarily...More
We stayed in this nice hotel for five nights. Enjoyed a room directly overlooking the promenade and the sea. However it was expensive. I knew the price before we stayed, so there are no complaints, but why the high cost I do not know. Food...More
The food & staff were excellent but the single romm for which i paid a supplement turned out to be no larger than a boxroom with hardly room for a single bed and a wardrobe., There was also insufficient drawer space for clothing.
We have just spent five nights at this hotel as part of a Great Rail Journey package.
We were very impressed with the hotel location, perfectly located for the ferry and on the promenade with it's wonderful views.
At breakfast there was plenty of choice...More

The Claremont will give you a parking disk. You can then park on the street for free displaying this disk. However, you must move your car every 2 hours (or 3, I can't remember). You can't just go out & change the time on the disk, you have to physically move your car to a new spot. After a certain time (8pm, I believe), you don't have to move it til the next morning. But it is a nuisance. There is no other parking, however. There is a no disk zone, but it is a few blocks away.
