It is most irksome to find that some reviewers compare the Adelphi with the Ritz and find it lacking. This is a traditional B&B with all the plusses and a few of the minuses you would expect. Everyone praises Eric, the host, and rightly so. Nothing is too much trouble for him, given notice he will even get you kippers...

Great hospitality by Eric and his wife. Even offered to pick me up from ferry terminal as it was late and dark. Single room very clean, with flat screen TV with all TV and radio channels, tea/coffee making and very clean en-suite toilet and shower. Nice large dining room with plenty to eat breakfast. Kippers and mushrooms if 24 hour...

Hotel was very nice. The room was clean and very little noise could be heard, even with the window open. The owner was friendly and helpful, always remembered what you had for breakfast the day before and also gave advice about when to be at the airport or ferry terminal. Parking is always a problem on the Isle of Man...

The room was clean, with tea and coffee. Breakfast was nice and cooked fresh. The owner was very helpful with good advice. No lift and stairs to rooms. A bus stop about 250 meters away that went to the town.

Although we had trouble finding this place - the satnav took us round in circles - after a phone call to the place we were picked up and collected by car very quickly. My grandson and I shared a twin room, which was clean warm and comfortable, and we were given advice as to where to visit, as most attractions...

Thanks Eric for your wonderful service and warm welcome! The hotel is very nice and neatly kept. This hotel offers great value during off-peak winter season and is great to stay to get a good night's rest and centrally located to access the facilities and shops in town. I have not yet visited in summer.

After a great weekend staying in the Adelphi hotel whilst watching a rally over there, Eric is a very helpful chap and nothing was a problem either. Very short walk there from the shops Would defiantly recommend it. We will all defiantly return.

A friend and I stayed here 23rd - 25th October. The Adelphi is a very pleasant and conveniently located hotel. Only 10 minutes walk to the centre of Douglas and just up the road from the seafront. The hotel is kept in good order by Eric and his wife. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy and breakfast is freshly cooked...

We stayed at this hotel in October 2015, and it was a very enjoyable experience! It was in a nice quiet place in Douglas and it was quite close to the promenade. The owner, Eric was very helpful, and he picked us up from the sea terminal since it was late at night, and he even dropped off our luggage...
