Booked for a 2 night wedding anniversary break and was not disappointed. The receptionist was warm and welcoming and escorted us to our room ....the room was lovely... spotlessly clean and fresh (the housekeeping team had just vacated ... again friendly and welcoming) and the room was actually more like a suite with seperate seating area overlooking the amazing beach...

Had a wonderful stay at the Royal. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist and shown to our spacious room (so sorry I can't remember her name). The hotel was well kept and very clean, it was obviously well run and all of the staff we saw were helpful. The hotel is right on the sea front and has restaurants...

The bar was closed on Saturday night due to a private function, surely we should have been told this at time of booking!! The hotel is in a great location and the sea view rooms look great. We had room 14 which overlooks a flat roof with some junk on and an extractor chimney from the kitchen. The toilet sounded...

Stayed here for 1 night and we were very happy with our room. Managed to get a car space in front of hotel as there is only a limited amount, but a car park isn't far away. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Loved the room, which had a sofa that we found very useful after walking along the promenade...

Stayed here last night after yet another one of my random hotel stays. What can I say? Great location bang on the sea front, as soon as you walk in you are greeted with a very friendly reception who explains the layout of the hotel. Room was nice and clean, coffee and tea making facilities, freeview TV, very comfy beds...

We had just a one night stay. The hotel is in the centre of the promenade and ideally placed for the beach. The town centre is a 10 minute walk away. Nice clean hotel. Cooked breakfast is nicely cooked but no special provisions are made for vegetarians. There is limited parking at the hotel but plenty of street parking nearby.

One night stay in Whitley Bay to watch a band at the Playhouse. Hotel in excellent location on the seafront and just 10 minutes walk from the venue. Front desk staff very helpful on arrival and even showed me to my room which was very useful as it was located at the back of the property and would have been...

Parking outside only for approx 6 cars. Room on arrival was okay just lets say Premier Inn is far superior. Sea view beautiful it was so nice that we moved the sofa to look out only to find a LARGE EMPTY USED PIZZA BOX underneath it (room had not been cleaned properly). We also did not have a cup of...

This hotel is in a rather run down area of Whitley Bay. On arrival, we found there was no lift, so the older members of our group had to be helped carry their cases up very narrow stairs to their rooms by others in the group, as there were no staff on hand to help. Our room at the back...
