My daughter & I stayed overnight, loved every minute of our leisurely break. Home from home comforts, Andrew is a perfect gentleman made us both extremely welcome, meeted & greeted on both our arrival & departure! Really appreciated every moment of our stay. Highly recommended to travellers.

Andrew has worked hard to make his place the best looking fom the street with lots of flowers. Comfortable rooms and quiet. Aequate space and most excellent breakfast. Very convenient to metro and travel to the starting point of the walk. Located a couple of blocks from the bay and a good Turkish restaurant. Very friendly place that caters to... More

Great little hotel near the beach and everything else. Whitely Bay may not be everyone's first choice anymore, but with more places like this it'll soon reclaim its former glory. Andy is a great host and will organize anything you need. The coast is so beautiful with sandy beaches and amazing light. Plenty of great bars and restaurants as well... More

Having completed the Coast to Coast Cycle Ride at nearby Tynemouth , my partner and I made our way to the Oaktree Lodge to rest for the night before our transfer back to Whitehaven on the following morning. On arrival in the early evening we were warmly greeted by Andrew who immediately helped us to take our bikes in for... More

First night of Hadrian's Wall walk. Train arrival in Newcastle. By Metro, then short walk to Oaktree. Accommodation was fine - thoughtfully laid out, clean and functional. Bathroom contained a shower that was acceptable. Finest points were Andrew's helpful and accommodating nature, and the perfect breakfast.

Lovely stay, the breakfast was superb and probably the best I've eaten when on my travels in a long time, the room was nice and had everything I needed. They were also very helpful in advising me of the best places to eat locally. Full marks from me!

Room (#9) was clean, fairly spacious, with TV and kettle. The manager carried my suitcase up the stairs to my room. The Full English Breakfast was ok, although the tea was not very good. Overall, it was a good stay and well worth the money.

Stayed here for one night and were made to feel very welcome. Andrew was very helpful in advising us to use the metro for ease and value for money for our trip into Tynemouth that evening as we were going to the Priory for a concert. Out room was very well decorated and had good quality toiletries. The decor throughout... More
