I stayed for a night in room 6 and can honestly say I have never stayed in a room so dirty and old. Shower head was disgusting, there was no plug in the sink, mould on the bath tub, wall paper peeling of and the window in the bedroom was revolting.

Have never stayed overnight here - but would assume from the cleanliness of all the other public rooms it would be good. The staff work hard and make you welcome. We enjoyed the Sunday lunch ( carvery buffet) - with an attentive chef who keeps things well stocked up - a most enjoyable lunch was enjoyed by us all. Keep...

There's nothing wrong with this hotel but nothing that makes it stand out either. The room was an excellent size and the ensuite had a gorgeous deep bath. When we arrived we thought the room smelt vaguely of smoke, we realised this was because the back door fire door (downstairs) was left open for smokers and it clearly drifted up...

Posted on behalf of my partner who doesnt use tripadvisor. Last week I was travelling back from Lossiemouth and got caught up in several hours of traffic - snowgates were closed due to weather and a bad accident, and wasnt going anywhere fast. I googled quickly and found The Scot House Hotel - called them and the manager confirmed they...

We have stayed at the Scot House many times over the years but not recently. Over the past few years the hotel has had a succession of owners and it shows. The current owner lives permanently in America and the hotel is run by a series of temporary managers. My room was spacious, clean and warm and also included a...

Stayed overnight with my husband and son on Friday 25 October on a stopover on our way to Inverness. We arrived late in the evening after a long and tiring journey from Surrey and received a very warm welcome. Our rooms were spotlessly clean, warm and our beds were comfortable. We all slept well and enjoyed a good breakfast before...

I reviewed this hotel in 2005 under previous ownership and management but how it has gone downhill since.!The exterior desperately needs upgrading and the lovely interior put in by the previous owner, who seemed to have excellent taste, now needs refreshing and bringing up to its former glory. Visiting the bar and restaurant area it becomes immediately clear that the...

My wife and I stayed here for one night while visiting the nearby wildlife park. It was a lovely building from the outside. Our room was a superior ensuite overlooking the main road. It was a good size room with additional chairs and table which we utilised whilst watching the world go by. The new owner was very friendly and...
