My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights...we'd arrived by sleeper train at Kingussie at 7.30am approx. Derek and Celia were extremely accommodating and provided us with breakfast. Our room was extremely comfortable and the breakfasts and evening meals were absolutely delicious. We were made to feel extremely welcome and felt very relaxed. We don't normally post reviews on...

We have just returned from a delightful weekend at The Cross. Such a cosy friendly intimate hotel with a very hands on personal touch from the lovely owners and a helpful informative barman! Really comfortable room under the eves with a balcony overlooking the little river outside. Huge double duvet which is always a plus for Scandinavians like us used...

We met friends for an overnight stay at this delightful hotel at the beginning of October 2016. What a lovely warm welcome by the owners and staff. Delightful place, very small and intimate. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and will definitely recommend this amazing hotel.

We have been holidaying in the area for over 30 years and have just found this gem!!! I cannot speak about the rooms as we only dined there but, if they are in line with the reception and restaurant area, combined with the quality of food and service we received, I can only imagine they will be excellent. The ambiance...

I save reviews of hotels and restaurants that stand out in some way, and when we planned a trip to Scotland, I came up with an old review of The Cross. It was deemed one of the best in Scotland for both food and accommodations. The nine-room hotel is in an old converted mill with a stream outside the windows...

This is our third stay at The Cross and the standards remain as high as ever. As with my previous review this was our last night of a fortnight touring mostly northern Scotland and our first night was The Peat Inn in Fife, and again the food here stands comparison with The Peat. It has proved more expensive this time...

My wife and I stayed for one night. We were given a ride to and from the railway station. Our room had a Juliet balcony overlooking a stream. The room was spacious and well equipped. The meal was fine dining with a choice of a six course sampler meal or a three course meal. The meal was excellent and beautifully...

Spent 2 nights with 2 dinners and a breakfast. Walking in the Cairngorms gave us a great appetite. Ate al a carte for both dinners. Food was fantastic. Service was perfect, friendly and helpful. Room was warm and comfortable. Not cheap but very good value for money. Bonus red squirrel appearance when we came down for breakfast (which was also...
