Stayed at the Star Hotel over the Easter Break (Fri,Sat,Sun) 2017, And I must admit I had a great break visiting friends, Very friendly staff, the meals where extremely good. Yes the rooms are a little dated, but then again there VERY clean and comfortable, as far as I'm concerned, if you want 5 star Accommodation pay 5 star prices,...

Book this to arrive to be met with a run down old fashioned smelly hotel. Looks really rough with broken windows and doors. Receptionist seems to think its not her problem? I don't like running places down but this place is quite possibly the worst establishment and business I have ever came across.

A pleasant stay in this character hotel in the centre of the town. Not a great choice for vegetarians at breakfast which was a bit overcooked. Some nice vegetarian sausages would have been great, The room was a bit bland looking.

Attended on the 2nd January for lunch before getting the train home and popped in as it was the only place serving. I had the hunters chicken which was tasty but came with boiled potatoes which I found and odd choice. My husband had the fish and chips though he couldn't eat it as the fish was full of large...

I picked this hotel due to the fact I was hill-walking in the area and I was something reasonably priced to put my head down. The hotel is in need of refurbishment, however the bedroom was clean, warm and bed was comfy. The staff were friendly and they accommodated us by serving breakfast early so we could get on our way....

Over the past few years we have stayed here for the friendliness of the staff, rooms are basic but we've never complained about the food locally sorcerd and always well well presented. A perfect location for the highlands.

Came for walking and needed a place to stay. The Star Hotel is clean, has friendly staff and a nice breakfast. Nothing is super special or absolutely fantastic. The hotel is certainly past its best days but it is cheap and in a good spot for exploring the local hills.

The staff were very friendly, our room was very clean with tasteful decor and our bed was comfortable. Rates were very reasonable, breakfast was good with a decent choice and the var was welcoming. However, our room could have had some of the pipes boxed in and the bathroom badly needed to be updated. We don't mind a shower over...

Stayed here with friends after a long day hiking. Was fine for us as just wanted somewhere cheap close to where we were hiking. Hotel clean enough but very dated and could do with upgrade. Receptionist was very friendly. Breakfast was OK but would have preferred if beans came with the cooked breakfast. Only real issue for me was that...
