We have had 2 holidays staying at The Old Vicarage. The 2nd time staying in the newly built ones. This was a perfect place,2 bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen.Nice views looking out to sea towards caldey lsland.and golf club.Very peaceful, set in beautiful gardens.
l would'nt recomend these apartments to young families as there is'nt much outside space for them to run around. If you want peace and quiet this place is ideal.

We have holidayed at the Old Vicarage for years now, and we'd never go anywhere else. It truly is a home from home. Each holiday let has everything you will need for a comfortable stay. Everything is spotless and beds are made up for your arrival with beautiful crisp bed linen. We have stayed in different properties on the site over the years and each one has been as good as the other. The peace and tranquility coupled with the stunning views make this the must have place to stay. Great for families and couples alike. Plenty of off road parking. Established gardens to the rear of the property ensure privacy if you prefer a day at home than at the beach.

Superb apartments, everything you need for your stay is provided. Phil (the owner) was very welcoming and most helpful. Excellent location for visiting the area. Barafundle Bay and Cauldy Island, must visit places.

This was a perfect location for exploring Pembrokeshire and in particular the Tenby area. The flat was comfortable, clean and well maintained. The local pub was a few minutes walk and to sit there in the evening overlooking Cauldy was fantastic. Will be back again this year.

There were two bedrooms. One kingsize bedroom with the fantastic view of the bay and one with two single beds in the attic which kids will absolutely love. Sitting room is so spacious and I like the two huge scenic windows we have, you could actually hear the train and see it from your window. You will enjoy the window with binoculars. We are having a nice stay in the "Bayview flat" so far. There's a local shop nearby if you fancy cooking and a very friendly pub nearby if you wanna go out for a drink. Walking distance to the beach and a few minutes drive to Tenby beach. We have been here last year and would love to come back again soon.

I thought I would only go to beach in summer but I realise you could actually enjoy it all year round(without the crowd in winter).

We recently returned to the old vicarage for a holiday after many years. The apartment was excellent having had a refurbishment since our last visit. The views from the granary apartment are fabulous. The location is good being on the outskirts of tenby so parking is not an issue. Lovely walk over the beach from penally to tenby. Can't wait to go back

If the definition of the word 'luxury' is : ''great comfort, especially as provided by expensive and beautiful things '' then I would hesitate to use this in the title of the Old Vicarage's brochure. Very comfortable and clean (unless you are looking at the skirting behind the beds) - a great location with many plus points including comfortable layout and sofas in the living area of the Garden cottage. Very well kept gardens with the added bonus of a large playing field and playground directly opposite the property as well as a great post office/ grocery store a couple of minutes walk away. Lovely walk direct to the beach from the property. The elements that let it down ,as with so many self catering locations were the little things that make all the difference - for example, great to have a large dishwasher in the kitchen, but frustrating to have such a limited supply of inexpensive crockery to really make best use of it. A lack of some really basic kitchen items such a a colander and a decent selection of cutting knives and boards. No excuse really these days when such items can be obtained for minimal costs and are clearly needed for families who choose to holiday in self catering accommodation. With a little thought and a small amount of outlay these types of things could be easily addressed and satisfaction levels would rise enormously. We would certainly consider returning as overall it is a great location and base but we would want to see just a bit more effort put into things to justify the self given title of 'luxury'.

Response from OldVicTenby, agency at The Old Vicarage
Responded 8 Sept 2011
Thank you so much for your review and the many positives we could take from it - we were disappointed that the apartment was not as clean as you would wish as we do take great pride in ensuring cleanliness is a priority - we have discussed the matter with our cleaners and have gone through a review of our cleaning procedures and checks to ensure we have no re-occurance of the dust behing the bed. We checked the cupboards and found 14 dinner plates although not all matched - there was a colander, chopping board and a variety of sharp knives - however, if you had raised the issue at the time we would have been more than happy to make sure you had everyhing you required - we do also leave a guest feedback form for such matters to be raised which again was not completed during your stay - we were sorry that you felt our apartments were not of a standard to be called luxury a discription used by many hundreds of guests that we have had since 2004 who continue to return to us on a regular basis - we will continue to invest in improvements for our apartments while at the same time mindful that our pricing needs to give value for money its not always easy to get the balance right.

We stayed for a week in the old dairy, a beautiful and clean little apartment. Our friends had a bigger bungalow type apartment over the garden. We had an al fresco meal on the raised deck and drinks on our friends terrace. It was great value for money and a very pretty walk into Tenby. There is even a train stop in Penally itself.

We stayed in the coach house which is a beautiful little cottage that was perfect for us. Just outside the bustle of tenby but within walking distance of the beautiful beach and a couple of pubs doing good food. The host is very friendly and accommodating and the cottage exactly suited our needs.
We would definitely stay again the only negative was it could have been a bit cleaner. Sand in the couches and black mould in the bathroom were a little off putting but easily solved which would make it a perfect 5/5
