We only booked into this hotel for the one night as a treat to ourselfs as we were going to see the fireworks in southport and go out for a meal.We arrived at hotel we were immediatly shown to our room not asked who we were ? i presume this is because we booked on line so our name would...

We stayed for one night. Good welcome from the proprietor although smell of cigarette smoke in downstairs room a bit off-putting. Room was basic but confortable (right at the top of the house). Free WiFi worked well. Excellent cooked breakfast with fresh tomato (not tinned). We would go back for a good, basic stay.

I opted for the Coniston as it was cheap and cheerful. I was right. Get yourselves booked into room 14. Its got a double and a single with a nice ajoining bathroom. There was plenty of space and a nice wardrobe. There was also plenty of tea and coffee. Clare is very friendly and makes a great breakfast. There are...

Booked this as a second choice, after booking realised it was pet friendly and we are all cat allergists, this put a dampner on things. Looked at pics, looked like a back street Blackpool hotel that always has vacancies. On arrival, smokers greeted us as they stood directly in front of door. It was difficult to park as it was...

Basic hotel but serves it's purpose. Breakfast was lovely and the hosts were very welcoming. I would stay again as it is central to all southport has to offer

Very good location, central to everything. Breakfast was OK. DOWNSIDE - very noisy at night with people coming and going. Would not really recommend this choice of accomodation.

Basic to say the least Not very tidy at all - wires all over in the lounge and things thrown behind sofa and a tatty ironing board in the lounge. The whole place needs decorating and tarting up. It felt dirty, probably wasnt but because of tattiness it felt like it was. The bedrooms are very basic and old-fashioned and...

The sign says it all. Friendly but basic B & B. It's owners were friendly and very helpful, allowing us to have an very early breakfast on a weekend. Decor and quality of breakfast however were basic and without much taste.
