Nestled in Pembrokeshire, The Imperial Dragon Hotel is celebrated by many travelers for its spacious, Asian-themed rooms, though updates to bathrooms and the addition of fridges have been suggested. Its prime location is ideal for exploring local attractions, yet some guests find evening outings less convenient.
The hotel's cleanliness and elegant atmosphere receive consistent accolades, as does the quality of the inclusive breakfast and dining. While opinions on value differ, the attentive service provided by staff is a highlight for guests.

Detailed Reviews
This hotel only has 3 stars but I was struggling to find somewhere with vacancies so I booked 2 nights with fairly low expectations. From the minute we arrived until we checked out, the staff were friendly, helpful and professional, that immediately impacted on our impression of the hotel. We then got into our twin room and were again pleasantly surprised it was clean, modern and spacious and not only did we have the standard tea, coffee and milk pods/sachets but also some Welsh cakes and 2 bottles of water. Everything in the room worked as it should, it was warm enough and even outside the window, (retaining wall) was planted up and tiered to enhance the view. Finally the breakfast- the room where it was served was light, comfortable and cool the service was excellent, the choice was good and it tasted great. Honestly, surprised and delighted by the whole stay. Would definitely recommend and come back.

We have returned to this excellent hotel several times in recent months. The staff are exceptional, always helpful and courteous. The rooms are extremely clean and well maintained. Breakfast has a number of options and is either taken in the breakfast room or delivered at no extra cost to your room with time slots pre booked the day before. The hotel is dog friendly and has a number of rooms where dogs are allowed, it is important to let them know if you wish to take your dog and their is a small fee. We found the grassed area outside perfect for taking our dog out to the toilet and a well placed bin allows for easy cleaning up. Saundersfoot is a short drive (around 10 minutes) from the hotel with ample car parks at coppet hall and the harbour. Blue badge holders need to pay but get an extra hour free. Payment at the car parks is cash or card. Lokky’s restaurant is excellent and next door to the hotel, it was closed on this visit due to unforeseen circumstances but when open we have enjoyed a number of meals there. The dragon palace is a short walk as an alternative restaurant to Lokky’s. Wifi was extremely good in our room. Their is ample car parking and one disabled bay by the door.

We stayed here for two nights and were very impressed with the staff and facilities, WiFi is excellent, parking is plentiful. The attached restaurant is excellent with some good cocktails on offer and a varied menu. Breakfast served to the room was also faultless, on time, well prepared and very enjoyable. Rooms are spacious, very comfortable. We had a dog with us and he was welcomed and made a fuss of by the staff. There is a large grassed area where it is possible to take your dog to the toilet and a bin next to the area for convenience after you have cleared up after your dog.

Stayed in room 6 with our labrador Ivy for 3nights August 18th. Lovely friendly staff, Alison Charlotte and Sue go that extra yard for you. Charged 10£ per night for her for cleaning the room and 5£ for her size how odd!!!!!!!!!!
Great room but needs cleaning daily not done once in 3 day,s.....why. The bed and room spotless on arrival.refilled coffee and milk daily, thats all.
WE had both breakfasts overcooked on Saturday mentioned it to Charlotte and had a full refund 20£..heard Inn only taken over a year ago by Lokkys Thai restaurant owners,so In fairness they are on a learning curve but must tell housekeeping where the vacuum is kept as 3 days of dog hair on carpet not acceptable. Great parking and location for days out in the area. We enjoyed our stay but I heard restaurant closed Monday Tuesday. The bar is only open when restaurant is and that'still about 930pm. If like me you enjoy a beer after a day out driving well get back early or bring from home and have it in your room. I'm sure that these little quirks will be ironed out.
As regularly taking breaks down there would be more than happy to stay again subject to the points I made being guaranteed . Why spoil the good work you are doing as hotel is spotless but with an unserviced room.

Response from Charlotte Heath, Guest Services / Front Office at The Imperial Dragon Hotel
Responded 17 Nov 2022
Hi Al B, Thanks for taking the time to write us a review, we are glad to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay with us. It would seem that there were crossed wires with regards to the housekeeping of rooms during our guests stay. We only go into the rooms to service them daily if a hanger is left on the door, otherwise housekeeping will keep out. Replenishments of all refreshments and towels is with the reception team at all times, we are more than happy to service your room daily but only on your request. I'm sorry to hear that breakfasts served to you were not to our normal standard, and am glad that you brought it to our attention whilst here giving us the chance to rectify. Lokky's opening times change with the season, Monday's always being our closed day, (need to give chef a day off!) All opening times are on Websites, social media and advertised to our guests here at The Woodridge. Your kind comments have been shared with our reception team, Angela, Charlotte & Sue, we are lucky to have 3 of the most welcoming hospitable ladies working with us they would like to extend they're thanks to you, and said it was "they're pleasure" and they look forward to welcoming you back with us again soon.

Recently stayed at this hotel whilst visiting the area.
The hotel itself was very clean, rooms were spacious and had everything you would need in them.
Staff were very friendly and were always on hand to help out. All Covid restrictions were adhered to by hotel staff.
We had food from the restaurant delivered to our room on the first night- this was very tasty and good value. Breakfast again was delivered to the room and this was tasty and plentiful. If I could suggest one thing it would be that food could be covered whilst coming to your room.
We ordered from a nearby Chinese restaurant on the second night- hotel staff dealt with this and provided us plates and cutlery to eat this.
A lovely stay and we would definitely return if in the area!

Fantastic stay in this small hotel just outside Saundersfoot.
6 min from Saundersfoot and 10 mins from Tenby so good location to explore.
Lovely big, clean rooms with comfy beds, free wifi, towels, tea/coffee facilities, TV. Free parking on site.
Friendly staff, especially on reception. Check in was easy and they called day before to advise on times etc.
Free breakfast which is made to order and plenty of choice, kids loved the pancakes.
Nice beer garden area with mini park for younger kids and grassy area where you can play ball games.
Bar and restaurant 'Lokkys' attached to hotel serving Asian inspired menu with sushi, curry but also burgers, chips, steak etc. Extensive drinks menu. It is quite pricey though but worth the money for the great service where nothing is too much trouble. The only negative is that we had to leave. Hopefully we can visit again soon.
Thanks.

Excellent stay.
We visited the Woodridge this month as a family with a small dog for three nights. The staff on arrival were extremely friendly and engaging and this continued throughout our stay; seemed very approachable and would stop to find out about our plans for each day.
The room was very clean and had everything we needed; a large double (may have been a queen) a single bed and a small dining table with chairs, kettle, tea and coffee along with bottled water. The furniture/decor is basic but the beds were comfy and for a base to explore it was perfect!
The breakfast was very nice and great to have the option to have this in our room. The quality of the products was good and my son loved the pancake option.
There is an onsite restaurant which we didn't try however each night seemed very busy and popular.
Lots of parking available which is always a bonus!
We would definitely recommend staying here and we will also definitely be back. Thank you Woodridge for a great stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Imperial Dragon Hotel as a last minute booking to get away to relax and enjoy.
The location was great (about a 35 minute walk to Saundersfoot beach) and a 20 minute drive to Narbeth- both of which were lovely days out.
The staff were friendly, helpful and very welcoming, making our stay very personal and comfortable, not like some hotels where it’s clinical and regimented.
Our room was gorgeous and beautifully furnished (we stayed in the Thailand room). The fire exit light was extremely bright which didn’t allow for the best night sleep, unfortunately.
The only couple of things that would have finished the room off would be it the bathroom was redecorated the same as the room to keep in with the style, having said that, it was immaculate and nothing wrong with it as such. The room didn’t have a mini fridge which would have been helpful to keep some bits in from our packed lunches for our day out, but again, not a huge deal.
Our TV didn’t seem to work, due to no signal, which didn’t really bother us as we didn’t spend a lot of time in the room, but may have been a disappointment for some people.
The lounge area is small and very intimate, again, beautifully decorated and a lovely place to enjoy a drink in before or after dinner (some background music would have been nice as the quietness it was a tad awkward in there, especially with other guests).
We didn’t have an evening meal in Lokky’s, but the food looked delicious from what we saw. Breakfast was included in our nights stay which was great. We booked our slot for breakfast at 9.45am, however, we didn’t end up getting our food til 10.15am due to shortage in some ingredients. This did make for a bit of a rushed check out (which is at 11am), but staff didn’t seem phased by being a few minutes late. The breakfast itself was tasty, but the toast was brought out 10 minutes before the food, which did make for cold toast with the full English. Nevertheless, we asked for more toast and more hot drinks, which were brought straight away.
All in all, a lovely stay and we wish the hotel all the success for the new year!

Such a warm welcome received on arrival and felt supported and valued throughout our visit. Help readily available and our room was perfect for purpose. We were on the ground floor with all other dog owners and sensibly we were permitted a section of the restaurant so that our pet could accompany us to meals. Our room was large and comfortable with well stocked tea tray and Welsh cakes!
We eat at Lokkys one night and were really pleased with the dishes and their preparation- and at breakfast even the dog received a sausage!

We have just spent a few days at this lovely hotel. The reception staff were very friendly and informative they couldn't do enough for us to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
We had a double room on the first floor and as soon as we walked in it had the wow factor, spotlessly clean and the biggest most comfortable bed I have seen in a long time. The room was large with plenty of space.
Breakfast was cooked fresh and was very tasty it had all the things you expect at a hotel for breakfast, fruit juice, cerial, yogut etc. What I liked about it was it was not a running buffet full of greasy bacon etc.
We had one dinner at the Sokky's restaurant, excellent food and plenty of it. The starters was a main meal on it;s own and the pulled pork melted in your mouth.
I have read some of the negative feedback on here and all I can say is they must have stayed at a different hotel than we did.
Thank you Woodridge staff for helping make our stay on a cold February day as pleasant as possible. Would certainly recommend this hotel.
