A lovely freindly family owned hotel. Cosy with great food and nice staff. Good value. Handy for the North Yorkshire moors and the steam trains. Clean rooms all on suite, a very charming place and a lovely experience.

Crossways hotel is a quite attractive building outside but very dated and tired inside. We had a twin room on the top floor which was quite chilly (the radiator, when on, was only tepid) and the electric "supplementary heating" produced about as much heat as my cigarette lighter. The shower cubicle was OK if a little worn but the electric...

Thank you for your negative review - you only had to ask for more heating Never had complaints with regard shower temperature - again you only had to ask Other guests complained regarding your early ( 5.30 and hourly noisy excursion outside to smoke) Breakfast we offered a full continental for you and full breakfast at 8 am on the...

Recently had Sunday lunch here. The bar area if that's the right terminology was oldy worldy to say the least. The bar itself was a hole in the wall. The decor was from another time. It was like being in a time warp. The restaurant too could do with some 21st century TLC. But the food itself was very good....

First time visit(STAY). Excellent all round service. Mine hosts Pauline & Paul were the most helpful and pleasant people we have ever met in all our travels. Food>>FANTASTIC and plentiful. Homely rooms and the added bonus of FREE Parking in the centre of Pickering. We will be back. Lilian & Laurence Mcphee , room 11.

Stayed 2 nights 30/9 to 2/10. Good location for the Town Centre and of particular interest, the North Yorks Moors railway, the reason for visiting and staying in Pickering. I do stay in quite a lot of hotels for business and leisure and have done for (gulp) 40 years and must admit I generally prefer the branded hotel chains than private...

We booked to stay for 2 nights 20/21 Sept 2016. We had looked at the reviews, so expected quite an old fashioned, quirky hotel. Knowing that most hotel rooms with shower have a bath. This was not good for us due to disability, so finding a place that had a walk in shower was important. Most of the information available...

We stayed at the Crossways to complete a two day trip to North Yorkshire, primarily for the NYMR. The hotel is in a prime location near to the centre of town, with excellent parking. Decor is traditional and in keeping with the style of a traditional B and B. Whilst not to everyone's taste, I liked it. What Went Well:...
