After going to the wrong Hardwick Hall oops, we arrived here at Hardwicke Hall Manor Hotel and were impressed by the grounds and the building itself. We were going here for a meal and received a lovely warm welcome at reception.and were impressed by the decor throughout each room downstairs. We then had our 4 course meal which was a...

Hello AYoung65 A great review with some excellent feedback we really do appreciate the time taken to write this review. The Hotel and its grounds date back to 920 with the current building over 600 years old. It has a few creaks and groans in places but we all would at that age, I think! I know I do and...

Gorgeous historic building which is traditionally decorated. We had room 11 which was at the top of the building after twisting and turning along alot of corridors we got there to find a very clean room with a giant bed. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful and a lovely place to relax. The bar was quaint and quiet. Breakfast...

Hello Geordienic, Thank you for your review, I am pleased you enjoyed our hotel especially room 11 (which previously was a private chapel for the Lord of the manor and his family. Before being converted into two bedrooms when the current owners purchased the building.) I would very much like to welcome you back with us in the future. With...

We had a lovely time at the Hardwicke Hall Manor Hotel (after having made sure we were going to the correct one) It is full of charm and the service from the mainly very young staff was superb. It is quirky and quaint as one would expect of a building of this great age. Our bedroom was lovely, up and...

I was unaware that there are two similarly named hotels in North East England - Hardwick Hall Hotel and Hardwicke Hall Manor Hotel. We arrived at the wrong one initially and the receptionist there explained that it happens all the time. First impressions were very good. A stunning building set in secluded grounds. We had a garden view room which...

The service was excellent. We had a beautiful meal on the night of our arrival. The room was spotlessly clean, very well decorated and quite large. However the shower's water pressure was poor, but that did not matter. The quiet location was beautiful, set in a lovely village, close to the beach & to Durham. We would defiantly go back.

The purpose of our visit was for a family celebration. We booked private dining for its intimacy for twelve guests. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful without being intrusive. All the group were pleased with their choice of meals and the hotel generally. Four of the party took rooms at the hotel and again comments were complimentary. Overall the...

Came away as a surprise weekend bought by my wife. Really, really old building in nice countryside near the sea. Some bits of the car park area didn't fill me with high expectations but once inside great atmosphere and lovely staff. Staying in one of the top floor rooms (former chapel). Not the best view but paid extra for a...

Just returned from an overnight stay which included lunch, and evening bar meals and breakfast. I have to say absolutely everything was superb and no praise is high enough for the staff, ambience, quality of food, detour and bedroom. Considering we visited on a special deal, which they do on a regular basis it was brilliant and we'll worth a...

I needed a hotel which would accommodate me + 4 medium lurchers and this fitted the bill. I was given a larger room with a sofa and they did me a deal on the dogs charging £20 instead of £40 (£10 per dog per night). Staff were really helpful and kind, especially towards the dogs. Food was also nice -...
