When you see the images, you are wowed, but when you are faced with the real thing you are blown away. The building has been renovated to a super standard. This standard being met by the super front of house & housekeeping teams esp. Gary & Holly
Excellent stay.hotel is beautifully renovated to a high standard.it feels luxurious even though was an old prison.the room we stayed in was actually 3 old cells to make your comfy room.it provided tea coffee facilities fridge water,tv hairdryer and still retained old prison windows.food was excellent in the courtyard and breakfast in the chapel was 2nd to none amazing.staff throughout hotel were polite and helpful.the museum tour we did by ourselves and preferred that way without a guide was very interesting shocking how the Victorians were treated, well worth it.we had a fantastic stay and highly recommend.plenty of free parking for hotel patrons
Stayed here for two nights for a birthday celebration with my husband and dog Daisy. All I can say is what a FABULOUS experience it was from start to finish. The hotel is amazing , to see how it looked as a derelict building to how it looks now is astonishing! The rooms / cells are luxurious , food is excellent and what made our stay extra special was the wonderful staff. Extra special mention for Carly who went out of her way to help us out and who our dog Daisy absolutely adored. Will definitely be back .
We stayed here for two nights and would have loved to have stayed longer! The hotel is superb, the staff are just lovely and the food in the Chapel restaurant was spot on. It’s a two and a half hour drive for us and despite this we were already planning another trip whilst on our way home. All in all our two days at the Bodmin Jail Hotel score top marks - 10+ out of 10.
The attention to detail is amazing. The rooms are cozy and well appointed. The pre dinner cocktails and evening meal was second to none. There was plenty of vegan options on the menu. The staff are polite and friendly. An experience we will remember for a long time.
We’ve just returned from a three night stay at The Bodmin Jail Hotel. We were greeted with a smile by Gary at Reception. Every member of staff we spoke to during our stay was polite, professional and helpful. Our room was fabulous. I did mention to reception that although the bedroom and bathroom had ambient lighting, the bathroom needed an illuminated magnifying mirror. I was advised that these are on order for each bathroom. Breakfast was delicious. We ate at The Chapel on our first night and the food was very. Ice as was the laser projections on the ceiling. Very clever. We also had drinks in the Cocktail and Gin Bar. The bar tenders were very friendly and good at their jobs. We also went on the dark walk tour….cleverly done and well worth it.
We stayed there for one night together with another couple for my husband's birthday. The place is unique, the staff are brilliant, the food is excellent. The ceiling light show in the Chapl Dining Room was amazing. The only points I would mention (and it is not a crititism or complaint) are that we would like there to have been a box of tissues in the room, a glass or beaker in the bathroom and for a top notch hotel, better quality toliet paper. While you are there, a visit to the Jail Museum is a must but not if you are claustrophobic! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
I visited Bodmin Jail. Hotel with a friend for a traditional afternoon tea after the Bodmin Jail experience. What a treat! The tea was delicious, the staff extremely helpful and friendly and the hotel itself was fantastic. Easy parking, I highly recommend a visit.
Absolutely wonderful! The room was luxurious and the bed so comfortable. The renovation of the old Jail had been so well done. Dinner and breakfast in the Chapel were top class. We are definitely returning!
The hotel itself is beautiful. It is so elegantly done. The staff were wonderful, the room was perfect. I do not have any issues with the hotel. Until check out. The screaming and shouting coming from the office by reception from what I would imagine to be a member of staff was very off putting. The poor reception person who was checking me out was mortified. Not professional at all; and I feel for the people who work there who get shouted at like that. I am surprised you have anyone work there.
