Very enjoyable break for 4/5 days with Torquay Travel staying at Sandringham Hotel 12-16 November. Hotel and food very good, entertainment not bad, experienced better in past at hotels. Clean and comfortable staff very obliging and very helpful. Had two excursions out one to cheddar gorge and Bath, excellent and the other to Dunster (very pretty village), unfortunately most eating places shut due to time of year , so would go again. Lucky with weather too. Would do this break again !!
This hotel was extremely run down. The carpets are thread bare and the decor in desperate need of a complete revamp. Some parts have been redone e.g half the bar and the restaurant but the rest is really run down. When anyone turns in the water it sounds like Jurassic park across all the rooms. The staff are all very pleasant and cannot be faulted. Anyone giving 5 star reviews is not being honest. How can you give reviews that high when the hotel is this run down. People need to apply standards.
The hotel is in a great location but like so many of these British seaside hotels is in need of a refurb.the first room we had was not to our liking a bit grubby and very soft beds. We were moved no problem to a bigger and better room with the down side despite sleeping three there was very limited wardrobe space. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were good. The evening entertainment was okay all in all we had a very pleasant short break
