We stayed in the cottage next door, which is linked to the hotel. We booked this place for a friends birthday. The rooms are spacious, tidy as well as the rest of the house. You even have a wooden chimney to keep you warm. The landlord is very friendly and any problems will be solved right away. We had a... More

Stayed in the cottage next to the hotel and it was perfect for the whole group. Our hosts were kind and generous and you couldnt ask for a better setting! Warm fire, comfy furniture and good facilities all add up to a stay that you would be happy with even if you never went sight seeing. The town itself is... More

So I arrived here the day before a walking trip which starts on the Sunday, as soon as you enter it's a very welcoming place. The team that run it are very welcoming and run a hotel that I would definitely stay in again. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, I also enjoyed a meal in the restaurant... More

just got back from a one night stay at the meadowsweet hotel, we had decided to have an over night stay as we had done the zip wire near by and thought it would be nice not to have to rush back home, we were so pleased we did as it was a very good choice, everything from the hotel... More

Arrived at the hotel to discover we had booked the previous night by mistake. The owner was really good about this and let us change our booking to that night which we really appreciated. He was very friendly and accomodating. The room was spacious and comfortable. The towels were super fluffy and some nice toiletries included. As we had been... More

I think this is a great hotel to stay in. Fantastic customer service - friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help - including serving dinner after the restaurant had shut when we'd had a visit to A & E. An imaginative menu, generous portions, food looked lovely, tasted great. Superb breakfast - full English without the grease. I don't... More

I had a lovely weekend away here at the beginning of September with my boyfriend, the room was always clean and very spacious. The staff were so helpful and welcoming at all times, we had car troubles one day and they let us stay in the room a little longer until we got a taxi and they didn't need to... More

Lovely weekend away for our anniversary. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Room was clean, food was amazing. Ate in the restaurant both nights as food was so good. Would 100% go back. Didn't know they were winners of four in a bed and it's clear why. Great hotel, great view, can't fault it at all. Owners are so involved.... More

This is a very good hotel with very fine facilities. The bed and breakfast are excellent. The continental breakfast is good and the optional cooked breakfast is outstanding. The only quibble we would have is that the excellent dinner menu would benefit from offering either a few snacks or some smaller portions. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights over the weekend. Excellent location and very friendly staff who are happy to help. Excellent food and great value for money with big portions. I would recommend and stay here again. Great breakfast and will cook to order.
