My husband and I stayed at Seis Playas Hotel for 2 nights mid Jan 2024. This is a nice size boutique hotel with rooms around the pool and restaurant area. Very nicely laid out, beautiful grounds with flowers and greenery. There is a great size pool to cool off, a nice sitting area, chairs around the pool as well. Breakfast was included for us, there is a nice size menu for breakfast options. One recommendation I would offer is adding fruit to all the breakfast options rather than having it with one :)
We ate dinner here one night as well which was great!
All staff that we had the pleasure of encountering were wonderful, friendly, eager to help.
This hotel is only about a 15 minute drive to Tamarindo Beach - we spent 2 days exploring Tamarindo and then escaping the busyness at this quaint hotel afterwards :)
Diego, Roberto, David, and the other bartender/server with the tattoos on his legs (forgot his name) You were all fantastic - thank you for the great service!

We went with a group, and they worked with our every need. The accommodations and pool are amazing, but the staff is even better! Breakfast is included, but you can also eat in the on-site restaurant for lunch and dinner. The manager made sure we were happy at all times. Wonderful place and wonderful people! We loved our stay and will be back!

We have visited the place several times as Day Pass interns but this time we stayed for one night. The service is always excellent, from cleaning the facilities and maintaining the gardens, to delicious food with nice presentation. The prices were very accessible for all the services and amenities they provided. We appreciate the customer service that we value most about hospitality. We'll be back!

The service you get since the moment you get there and all along in the restaurant is just so wonderful, people is caring and sweet. Don Arturo has an incredible customer service! and the food is super affordable. I have used the place to stay there, although I live in the area, also to recommend to friends, I even did my wedding there and recommended to friends for activities, I am actually planning my next activity, or just to spend the day in the pool and have meals there!!!!!! Thank you all for such an amazing service!!!!

Excellent stay. The pool is fabulous. It is a small hotel with amazing services. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Food was good. Rooms are big with an extra large bed. The only thing it does not have a fridge in the room. Big parking lot and the best location if you want to explore more than just the tamarindo beaches.

Seis was a gift. After booking a very sketchy place, I found the Seis Hotel at 10:30pm on a Friday night. The facility was so much more then I expected. Not only is it clean and safe. The staff is incredible (Roberto, Dylan, Tori, and I am so sorry I forgot the restaurant contact name) This place was a gem. Everything you need to rest and relax.

Stayed here over Christmas. Wonderful place beautiful staff!
Close to the action but far enough away to enjoy tranquil days by the pool.
The only tiny thing was lively Christmas partying right behind our room - coming from The adjacent property.
But the hotel cannot help that so giving them 5 stars :)

As a former hotel owner/operator and active airline pilot, I have a lot of experience with hotels. Staffing is critical. My wife and I hastily threw together a quick trip to Costa Rica. Our first choice was to fly into San Jose, but the flights were full, and we always fly standby. So, we decided to try our luck in the north near Liberia International Airport. I searched the for a Hotel and came across the Best Western near Tamarindo, 3 Km From the Huacas Intersection (one hour drive from the airport. The review looked good but we new we would have to rent a car to get around to see the sites and to get to the beaches just a few Kilometers away. We booked a room for 4 nights at a “limited” discounted price. As luck would have it, our first flight from the USA was canceled and we missed our first day. When we arrived a day late, we asked if the hotel would slide our reservation back by one day. They did so with out hesitation and with no extra charge. When we got to our room, next to the pool, we were pleased that it was so clean. We ate dinner that night in the restaurant. As we sat down, our waiter (Emanuel) quickly re-seated us to a better table near the pool. The food was excellent. The next morning my wife and I had breakfast that was included with the room. And, were again greeted by Emanuel. Breakfast, again, was excellent. Emanuel gave us wonderful tips on where and what to see. Over the next four days, Emanuel was truly interested in making our visit to Costa Rica a nice experience. Although the entire staff was quite good, Emanuel demonstrated an exceptional loyalty to service that completely made staying at this hotel a real pleasure over our 4 day stay.
The only down side to this hotel is the beds are a bit hard and the hotel location works best if you plan to have a car (See my Review on Rental cars – Alamo). Huacas intersection is north of the hotel just 3 km and there is a nice size grocery store and apparently has a bank located there if you need currency exchanged.
Because we had a car, we had a lot of flexibility, and this hotel was a very good base of operation from which we started our daily excursions. During our stay we discovered that many of the guests to this part of the country are more local in nature (from San Jose and Panama) due to the good value of this hotel and laid back atmosphere of this part of the country. Apparently, the northern portion of Costa Rica is less developed then other parts and locals like this area as a quick get away from more commercialized areas. The beaches a excellent, there are other nearby sites that offer a good tourism value.
Hint, only real mistake I made was to drive to Arenal Volcano. It was a four hour drive (one way) on twisting, hilly, narrow two lane roads on the north shore of Lake Arenal. It was too risky, and we were always concerned of getting into an accident. As we learned the next day, there are much better volcanic sites much closer and with more to see.
If you are not comfortable with driving in foreign countries, other options to renting a car are private touring vans like LAR Transportes (www.lartransports.com). This would be an excellent choice for small groups.

Location of hotel ten minutes out of Tamarindo was great. All interactions with staff and management were really excellent. Room was clean and well appointed. Restaurant offered great local and international fare and the pool and grounds were well kept making for a really relaxing and enjoyable experience. This is the nicest best western I have ever stayed in. I am recommending this hotel to all my friends and family as an incredibly good value at what seemed a perfect ten out of ten hotel. Thank you to the staff again for making our stay great! The Whites, from alaska USA

Yes it was Best Western Camino A Tamarindo, but since july 2017 We become SEIS PLAYAS HOTEL, We still have a great service, and also a great restaurant LA PLAYITA where you can have a nice meal every day, We are waiting for you!!
You can get taxis into Tamarindo (about a ten minute drive away) but we would recommend renting a car as there isn't much near the hotel. There is a car rental agency right on site - 4 wheel drive recommended!
Hola, thank you for your message. We can help you with any arrangement
Normally a transfer from Liberia airport is around $ 80 for 2 people, if you are agree you can send us all your fly information and we will arrange the pick up. The driver will be waiting for ou with a sign with your name

Volcán Tenorio & poza azul -blue lagoon- is an option, Arenal & the Water park will be very enjoyable for your kids & it's a beautiful area, Rincon de la Vieja also very nice! In Arenal & Rincon you will find horse riding, quad bikes, canopy tours, etc.
There are more places to choose from in the Huacas area.
