We were staying in the area and The Cheviot Hotel was recommended to us as a good place to dine. We had lunch in the bar – sirloin steak and gammon steak with pineapple. The quality of both meals was first class and exceptionally good value. The lady behind the bar was extremely helpful and very welcoming. Unlike a lot... More

A fantastic place to overnight - wonderful rooms, great pub and top class restaurant - something for everyone - the breakfast in particular was amazing. Also a lovely outside area where we got to meet the locals who were very friendly. - thank you

This is THE place to stay, eat and drink in Bellingham. The beds are amazingly comfortable the welcome is warm, copious amounts of hot water for showers and baths and the breakfast is second to none. Bellingham hospitality is probably the best anywhere. Wonderful place to be. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. I have family who live... More

We ate in the restaurant rather than bar area . Nice decor and atmosphere, it was extremely quiet but was a Monday evening. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Only had a main course but starters sounded delicious. Varied menu. Childrens menu available - under £6 meal with with ice cream . Food arrived quickly and nicely presented. Steak I ordered... More

Stayed in the village and spent several nights at the hotel bar and had several meals, we were a bit late on the Sunday, but the very good bar staff rather than turn us away, called the head chef and he was fine and we ordered. Meal was very good, locals please tell and chatty. All in all nice time... More

Stayed in Bellingham last week, opposite this place. Had a beer outside one evening which was great, some very good ales. Nicely done out pub/hotel and very friendly too. On the Friday evening we tried their restaurant and that was good too. We were the first ones in there just as well as we hadn't booked and it soon started... More

Stayed in Bellingham last week and had three separate visits to the Cheviot. One just for drinks with the family, a second time for a meal in the restaurant with my partner and then a family meal in the bar with the whole crew (plus dog) on the final night of our stay. What a great pub/restaurant. Really friendly staff... More

My wife and I recently cycled the Coast to Coast and returned on the Reivers. The Cheviot is an excellent place to stay en route. Extremely friendly staff, varied and good value menu, storage facilities for bikes (and use of drying room which came in handy!). Very personal…the owner is gradually improving the rooms and is very welcoming indeed. Highly... More
