If you are staying in Lambayeque this is a perfect place to be, confortable, clean, peaceful. The owner and the staff will make your stay even more pleasant. Very close to the main museums Bruning and Tumbas Reales and also some good places to eat a few blocks away. So many patios where you can roam, read by the pool...

If you're expecting luxury in Lambayeque, then you're going to be disappointed. But if you're going to this area of Peru, then I can't think of a nicer place to stay. The hosteria is located in the center of town and is clean, safe and gated - all hotel guests must ring a bell and be let in by the...

The location of the hotel is very good, within easy walking distance to the Plaza de Armas and both museums. The building itself is a lovely colonial house that has been well preserved and I was very well taken care of. Having breakfast in the patio is a very pleasant start to the day. But having been to a number...

Although the San Roque is in a nice location, has a swimming pool, and has a charming look from the outside, we thought it was double the price it should have been, compared to many other places we have stayed in Peru. We payed about 70 US dollars for a double and the room was just so so. The sheets...

My wife and I together with my brother and sister in law booked this place after being kindly recommended by the staff at El Choloque (located in the countryside outside Chiclayo). We loved Hosteria San Roque. We were in the area for culture and had no need for TVs or internet or a bustling nightlife, so the place worked well...

The hosteria (meaningless term in Spanish), is actually a small hotel, located in a beautiful Republican (XIX Century) mansion, in the old town of Lambayeque, North of Chiclayo. The staff is accomodating, the owner has in-depth knowledge of the area and restored this old house. The pool is a plus. Breakfast is basic, and there is no restaurant service (except...

Charming and quiet. This hotel is a real find. Yes, the breakfast is simple and there is no wi-fi but it seems to be truly the only hotel with character in the area. It is within easy walking distance to Lambayeque's musuems and only a 10-minute taxi or combi ride to Chiclayo. But who really wants to stay in Chiclayo?...

This hosteria is pretty, quiet and clean with nice outdoor spaces and a large pool (which was a bit grimy when we stayed). Our double room was clean and simple but could have done with a fan. We did feel that for $45 the breakfast should have been better (bread and jam) and wi-fi would have been good. It was...

An attractive small hotel in the old town of Lambayeque, on the outskirts of Chiclayo, and just a block from the main square. The front patio is particularly attractive, with an old tree and a wooden portico. Stairs lead up to a slightly spartan sitting area overlooking the street. Rooms, however, are at the rear and very quiet. Mine, with...

Thanks for the critic, we are glad you enjoyed the time you spent in the hostería. On the other hand, we are sorry you had trouble with the hot water. As it is an old house, it usually takes a couple of minutes for it to get to the bathrooms. Anyway, we promise to be more careful with that next...

“Bring ear plugs. As it is near the center of the city, there are frequent honks of taxis (they like their horns as much as New York taxi drivers). It is hot and humid this time of year, and helps to sleep with the window open at night. I'd rather tune out the noise than sleep in a stuffy room.”
