We stayed for 3 nights - the chalet was very comfortable with nice sheets and air con. The best thing was Giovanni and his dive centre. He taught my son aged 14 to dive and got my 2 older daughters half-way through their Advanced Padi,...More
We drove a rental car to North Borneo Biostation directly after 34 hours in transit from the U.S., and a 6:00 a.m. landing at BKI. You should understand this place is BEAUTIFULLY remote, which we loved, but even without jetlag, it would be extremely hard...More
Recently I completed my Freediving course with Giovanni at North Borneo Biostation. I am amazed by how much I was able to learn from Giovanni in the few days I spent at NBB. He is not only an amazing instructor, but also a marine biologist....More
We stayed here for 2 nights recently and loved it. The location is superb and the chalets are very comfortable. There is plenty to do, in terms of organised dives/trips etc and there is ample scope to just chill and go for the odd walk...More

You don't have to worry about any of those. Taxi is the only way to travel to downtown Kudat from the resort.. so tell your taxi driver that you are going to KK and he will drop you off where the shared van to KK is parked. Kudat is a small place and it's not like there are multiple taxi companies competing for passengers. There is only one van (I think 12 seater) for each destination. Shared taxis head to Padang Merdeka in KK (next to Dreamtel Kota Kinabalu) but you can ask your driver to take you all the way to the airport. You may have to pay him a little extra but you will save both money and time by not having to switch to a different taxi.

I guess the most objective answers to your question are contained in reviews here and on other booking site which you may google. Our guests rate cleanliness as 4.5 (from 5) here and 8.3 (from 10) in another booking engine. Both marks account for "very good". We care very much about cleanliness in all the rooms including sure shower/toilet. As I have answered before we DO NOT have bed bugs! Not a single one. We may only assume that those guests were bitten by sand flies. These are tiny flies (2mm) living everywhere in tropics. They come in clouds resulting in many bites. The common reaction is just feeling itchy for half an hour, but some people may have specific allergic reaction.
We had quite many guests with small kids and toddlers before and there were no complaints. You may find some of their reviews here.
