This is a lovely gastro pub in the picturesque village of Wedmore It's more restaurant than pub, but you can still enjoy a drink here in the bar or garden. The food is very good and the meat is locally sourced, you can't go wrong with the steak and the chips are excellent. All in all, highly recommended.

We stayed for one night for our business Christmas night out. We had four rooms in all and everyone was more than happy with the standard of their rooms. My wife and i had room 2 which was very well equipped and spacious. In the evening we ate as a group of eight on a nice round table. We all... More

We stopped over here for one night on route to north Devon but would have liked to stay longer. Rooms comfy, warm and stylish. Bathrooms lovely too but ours had no shower and though a bath is nice it's a bit of a waste of water these days. We are dinner in the pub and had a lovely meal, food... More

Stayed in the loft room and it was absolutely stunning. exposed beams, roll top bath, great bathroom. Just beautiful. The downstairs pub is canny but the breakfast was the only disappointment of our stay, bit slow and lacking in items and taste. That being said their salmon & eggs is delicious. We loved our stay and would go back just... More

What better place to enjoy the extra hour's sleep this weekend, than staying at The Swan in Wedmore. For such a lovely place to stay, it was actually quite good value (especially compared to what you would pay for the same somewhere like the Cotswolds). So if you're looking for a Coltswold's style weekend away with log fire, good wine,... More

Beautiful room, beautiful food, beautiful village and beautiful beer. Stayed 2 nights at Easter. Walked Cheddar Gorge on day and spent the rest of the time eating and drinking and playing cards in a cosy corner! Bliss.

The plus points are: 1. Wedmore is a lovely place 2. The parking is good and secure 3. The garden was lovely in this wonderful weather. Less good were: 1. The room which suffered from very noisy adjoining plumbing, a very hot duvet and lack of cupboard space. 2. The breakfast which was slow in service terms and "confused" as... More

Smashing hybrid pub/restaurant, ideal for a casual but sophisticated snack with a pint, or a more formal meal with a glass or two of wine. We visit on spec and always leave impressed. Keen service from friendly young folk and busy but not crowded, even before the rugby on the carefully camouflaged small screen TV. KEEP IT UP CHAPS!

We stayed for a night in the Swan recently and were delighted with our little find. We needed a hotel for a night near to Bristol airport and at around 25mins drive this was perfect (of course there are closer hotels but we liked the look of this place and were driving this way anyway). We had the "small" room... More
