Thank goodness we continued our trip past all of the stale camps along this road to find an absolute gem, an incredible, loving, warm, beautiful place ran by the most amazing and fun people so thankful! Hand written signs, fairy lights, fleet wood Mac playing on arrival in the reception and around the communal dining area, recycling points, everything so...

Definitely recommend staying here if you're doing the track. Even if you don't, a beautiful place to retreat, have a wander and go explore. Great views, cosy cooking areas and comfortable beds. Super clean too! The owners are very friendly and welcoming. And there's good wifi! Highly recommend!

We stayed overnight prior to walking the Able Tasman track.. Arrived late at night and left early in morning. Nothing was too difficult for them to manage. Had a spotlessly clean room and was shown all the facilities even though it was late at night. the position is ideal with fantastic views even from the washing facilities. Super clean and...

This cozy lodge was one of the best accommodations on my trip through New Zealand. The rooms were newly renovated and we were definiely one of the first people to sleep in those beds (which weren't bunk-beds, but single-beds, which was a really nice change after all the other dorms). The commonroom and kitchen weren't the newest, but very very...

At The Barn, you not only stay in a awesome clean & big hostel, you also stay in paradise! The hostel is the actual closest accommodation to the Abel Tasman National Park and it comes with a few perks: The night skies are incredible, the Sunrises are a mind-blowing show of lights and the birds are everywhere. We'll be back...

I loved my time at the Barn. My friend and I had planned on going camping in the Abel Tasman in the middle of our stay there, but the rain and winds ended up being too harsh for us to go that day. Ronda (the resident "camp mother") sorted out all of our plans and reservations for a water taxi...

Well where do we start!!! 😍 Our time at The Barn was an unforgettable and amazing experience!! It is without a doubt one of the cleanest and friendliest backpackers we've had the pleasure of staying in! We HelpX-ed here for initially 1 week, but because of the lovely staff and beautiful accommodation we ended up here for 6 whole weeks...

One of our favourite campsites during a winter canpervan tour of south island. The views from the camp are stunning. The kitchen is well equipped and the log fire is perfect for the cold evenings. The atmosphere was relaxed and the facilities clean and modern. Was perfect to relax with a beer in front of the fire after walking back...

Rhonda was such a great host! We had a wonderful time sitting by the fire and meeting new people. Our room was warm and clean. You can't beat the proximity to the Abel Tasman track! There are a number of options for toilets and showers. I chose to shower within the hostel as it was warm, but my husband enjoyed...

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. The facilities are incredible and include: indoor/outdoor kitchens (one with amazing sea view!), the best common areas I have seen with huge outdoor fires complemented by the backdrop of Able Tasman and ocean views. There are new bathroom facilities and the entire place is spotless, clean, modern but still filled...
