Scott was fantastic in the recommendations on what to do, see and best routes to take when we hiked the Able Tasman trails on our trip. In addition to his knowledge of the area, the lodge itself was fantastic. The rooms were well appointed and the communal kitchen and laundry area were a big plus after long days of hiking in the beautiful park! Please do yourself a favor and stay here if you come to this gorgeous region of the North Island of New Zealand, you will not regret it!

This place is the greatest. Super comfy rooms. Hot tub. Friendly owners. Scott was so accommodating. Kitchen to make food. Really close to the Abel Tasman park. Cool birds come up to the rooms. Great star gazing.

Perfect small family run lodge with incredible comfort and attention to detail. Location was great, easily walkable into the park and a short way from a beautiful bay. Views from room of pastures and bird life was great with Wekas, quail, Tuis and herons. Lodge is very well equipped with a great selection of gifts in reception, full group kitchen and capable room kitchenettes, a spa pool and yard games. Scott was warm and friendly, and helped with recommendations and to book a water taxi for us. One of the best stays and location for a peaceful stay in nature was wonderful. Wish we could have stayed longer and hope we will get to return one day.

My family stayed in a beautifully decorated two-bedroom unit. It was the perfect place to stay for two nights to do a one-day walk in the Able Tasman National Park. The water taxi left from the general store just down the road. The packed lunch made onsite was yummy and very handy for the day. I would highly recommend visiting even in winter. Just bring some supplies to make dinner, and bottles of wine to settle in!

The room and bathroom were very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Comfortable bed and highly recommended breakfast too. On top of this, the owners were very friendly and helpful: always happy to make our stay more comfortable or to offer their advice. Thank you for all your help and for contributing to our falling in love with NZ!

We had a wonderful three night stay here. A very friendly welcome from Scott, comfortable room and high quality breakfast and picnic lunches. It's fantastic to be just a few minutes walk from the park and we loved our two days of hiking, one taking advantage of the water taxi. Lastly to mention the joy of the hot tub as the sun sets and stars come out.

Abel Tasman Lodge is such a welcome pocket of luxury adjacent to the splendor of Abel Tasman National Park! Joce and Scott are incredibly welcoming and very knowledgable about the park and area (and they'll help you book water taxis and recommend routes). The property is gorgeous, immaculately clean, and filled with so many thoughtful details (e.g., on-site laundry, a relaxing outdoor spa, great amenities, etc.). They'll even pack a sack lunch to take on your hike. We splurged on the Kowhai Suite and it was so spacious - perfect place to relax with friends after a day of hiking. And don't miss a dinner at Hooked - truly delicious and an unexpected find in a sleepy town.

Stunning. Fantastic. There are not enough superlatives for this property or the owners. Unfaultable. Approachable, helpful, recommended trips booked trips will advise on anything. Property best ever stayed at so many nice thoughtful touches. Kitchen would put many households to shame fantastically equipped clean and spacious.

It is no wonder Abel Tasman Lodge is recommended so highly. Scott and Jocelyn provide superb customer service (even before we got there from Scott) and have a great understanding of customer needs - they gave us adjoining rooms so we could still get together as a family (there were 5 of us in the group). The rooms are impeccably clean and the beds wonderfully comfortable after a day in the Park. The rooms have all the amenities one would need for a stay. We would stay again in a heartbeat :)
