The lodge was beautiful, our room had everything we needed and we loved sitting out on the deck each morning while the wildlife woke up for the day. Jocelyn and Scott were so helpful with their advice and the most perfect hosts. We had initially booked for three nights but enjoyed our time so much that we increased it to five!
We had the loveliest time at the Abel Tasman Lodge. We stayed in one of the studios, which was big enough for me, my husband and my 11 y.o. daughter. The studio was very tidy and clean. The beds were comfortable, with nice soft pillows and smooth, clean linens. The bathroom was modern and spotless. Although the studio was small, it was tastefully furnished and decorated. The kitchenette was adequately supplied. Waking up was such a delight as we had coffee on the back patio overlooking the well manicured garden. The pukekos, weka and fantails were our early morning greeters! We also had a lovely time using the spa/hot tub in the evenings. We were within walking distance to a lovely restaurant and activities, and of course Abel Tasman. Our host, Scott and Jocelyn, were very helpful in making recommendations and bookings as cellphone signal was spotty. Overall, I would say Abel Tasman Lodge was like this hidden gem in the small town of Marahau. A lovely place for a getaway where you can just slow down.…
Self catering lodge on lovely grounds. Gorgeous en-suite rooms with cooking amenities, private deck, comfortable bed and plenty of linen. Super clean and comfortable. Super approachable and lovely owners that are very helpful. Packed lunch option great for walkers. The spa pool was epic! Stars completely amazing with the pool lights turned off. 5 minute walk to the water taxi where you can get dropped off on various points along the A.Tasman. Marahau was 1hour from Nelson airport - we organised a taxi for a transfer to and from Marahau. Close to the two main eateries (note these are closed during winter months).
The lodge was beautiful- well designed, excellent grounds and facilities plus wildlife and the sun!! Didn't use the car again one we arrived- as restaurants and the beach all within easy walking distance - the start of the Abel Tasman is literally meters away.....so serious walkers can also make it there base. Just awesome and I will be back- great for chilling out as well.
The Abel Tasman Lodge in its natural environment with lovely homely accommodation added to our holiday in the Tasman area. The chalets are beautifully presented, with very comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen and bathroom. We loved being able to order a packed lunch for days we were tramping and knowing we could enjoy a spa at the end of a long day was great. Easy and safe walking distance to cafe and local amenities. High recommend this lovely lodge for your next holiday.
