I hadn't been here for over 20 years and by chance decided to visit. We were pleasantly surprised. The new Landlord and landlady were new and made us feel very welcome.Worth a stop and will visit again.

Great food, friendly service, overall a lovely place. Only issue was it was a little cold (my other half wasn't cold so maybe just me!)and dessert took rather a while to come out but other than that it was great! We will definitely be back again.

As other reviewers here have noted, the pub is under new management so we thought we'd try Sunday lunch with the family today - and it was fantastic! The food was great - we all had the beef and it was cooked to perfection, and the accompanying veg was lovely too. There was a nice selection of wines and local...

Charlie and Joanna have just taken over her and the changes are already seismic! The food is excellent, the welcome very warm and it is a joy to visit and so say all the locals. Charlie was previously a Manager at Rick Stein in Winchester as is the new Chef Liam who turns out some top grub. Go and see...

After reading various reviews we decided to take the plunge. There was 6 of us and we only decided an hour before to book a table. (Probably hoping they would say no at short notice) Got there early and was greeted by a friendly couple behind the bar. They explained that they had only had the pub since Friday. Chance...

So the pub has recently been taken over by new leaseholders / landlords, it has had a lick of paint and a mini overhaul. The gents toilet is now inviting rather than a cess pit. The staff are friendly and informative, the menu looks fantastic (although not tried yet), long may the new people remain!!

The hospitality of the proprietors was excellent and the food is GREAT! It is a lovely retreat from city life and we enjoyed our stay. Our only reasons for giving 4/5 stars is that the shower in the room did not work very well and the bed was a bit lower to the floor than we are used to. Customer...

Nice welcome here from friendly owner and staff and a decent Sunday Roast with a choice of meats, only criticism was some of the veg which was over cooked. Surroundings were good and typical of a country pub in these parts. All in all a decent Meal.

Notified the dove inn that our arrival was going to be early because our flight got in early. Received no correspondence back from them so assumed all was ok. Arrived at 11am and the place was completely locked. Paint was flaking off the whole building, windows were smashed in the front, it looked like no one had stayed there for...

Not a bad little place. The rooms could do with a little TLC. Although the evening meal times are a bit restrictive 6 till 8 pm. The food quality was very good and Value for Money and the menu to choose from was ok..
