I am giving this only 3 stars to highlight the growing problem of noise pollution. The resort itself is certainly 5 star We had a villa with pool and were forced to move to the other side of the resort to escape the constant sound of traffic. We live in London so we want peace and quiet. We were warned... More

It's the little touches that really elevate a great place to one of the best in the world. Yes, Amandari features amazing views of the valley, and its villas are secluded and spectacular. The grounds are laid out in what I'll call a simple, Balinese Feng Shui style, and service was impeccable. The special touches: airport shuttle service both ways,... More

Stayed here for 3 nights before moving to Amankila, which both my husband and I preferred. Gorgeous resort with great service, but the rooms are a little run down and have gaps that let bugs/lizards/frogs in quite often (also two cockroaches). Staff were very good though so nearly made up for it, as did the beautiful pool and the lovely... More

If you’re staying at the Amandari, you’ve probably been to fantastic resorts already. But this one is different: it’s as if you’re staying at the luxurious compound of a friend who isn’t home, but left his huge staff to take care of you. It’s hard to pick the best feature of the Amandari: the property has an authentic historic feel... More

Unbelievable hotel, great service, the view is insane, amazing pool, amazing food! You don't even feel like your at a hotel. One of a kind! This hotel is one of my favorite Balinese getaways, it's traditional, rich in culture and has truly amazing customer service.

Amadari is the gem that never fades. The location and everything on site is just so special, and the private calm tranquil environment is delightful. We love that there is no tacky build in meal plan here, everything is custom and so pleasing. Enjoyed spa, tennis, gym, beach and the cuisine immensely. Aman staff are wonderful.

Set high above the Ayung River, Amandari offers fantastic views of the verdant river valley. The resort is incredibly peaceful and quiet, with the sounds of birds and the rushing river filling the property. While the oldest Aman resort in Bali, the grounds and suite were impeccably maintained. The mature landscaping and moss lined walkways give the property an authentic... More

Amandari is one of our favorite hotels. The suites are gorgeous, large, with a private pool overlooking the rice fields and the jungle. It is a place full of tranquility to enjoy the nature and beautiful surroundings. The service is impeccable, very friendly staff and very good restaurant. We did some of the excursions, e.g. the mountainbiking tour and waterrafting.... More

I went to Amandari recently for a massage, which was an absolutely wonderful experience. As all Amans are, the space was incredibly beautiful and the service was top notch. While the massages were great, what really stood out was their driver Sang Nyoman Arsana, who drove us back to our hotel after the massage. As a hotelier in the luxury... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Amandari (meaning peaceful spirits) is located in the village of Kedewatan, on the fringe of Bali's cultural capital, Ubud. Perched on an escarpment high above the winding Ayung River gorge, this resort follows the design of a traditional Balinese village. Pebbled walkways link the thatched-roof suites, each of which has its own walled garden. Amandari provides a unique setting from which to experience the cultural richness of Bali's artistic centre as well as its mountainous region to the north. ... more   less
