I visited Mandapa in May 2022 and completely forgot to leave a review, this thought was triggered as I have booked to come a second time this year! This hotel is outstanding. It is my favourite place that I have ever stayed, and we couldn’t wait to return. Our butler Dewa Rihadi was so attentive, caring and an absolute credit to the Ritz Carlton name. I can’t thank him enough for making our experience perfect. All of the staff were also wonderful. It’s the small details that make this place great. If you are thinking of booking here, please do! It is heaven on earth. Can’t wait to return in May 2023!

The Mandapa is incredible. We stayed six nights in June 2018 for half of our honeymoon. This place is beyond top notch. We have stayed at many wonderful hotels but this one surpasses them all by a long shot. Our Villa was spotless with a private pool (not a plunge pool) and a separate living room (it’s own building). Everyone that works here seems to genuinely care about your experience. Our butler, Tapsir, truly made for a memorable trip. We did a few private tours that the hotel set up for us that were all incredible. The breakfast buffet was great as well. Would stay here again in heartbeat.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Ritz Mandapa, and found the entire experience magical and extraordinary in every facet of our three-night stay! The hotel property is a marvel to see. The Mandapa Balinese village property is a unique and rewarding way to experience Bali. But it’s the staff that is stellar at Ritz Mandapa as they excel in every way for guests. We’d like to single out our butler, Made, who took personal care of us and ensured all reservations, activities and every detail was on-time and enjoyable. He truly exemplified the Bali way of kindness and service through his gentle and professional manner. Thank you, Made! Ode was excellent during our Jeep tour of Bali. He added a personal touch that was outstanding and made the experience come alive. From the opulent spa, pristine rooms and the expertise demonstrated at each restaurant, excellence was maintained during every minute of our stay. A hideous blot on the Bali landscape. Like Disneyland, but not in a good way. Completely overdeveloped, cookie cutter chain type hotel. Certainly not what Bali needs now. Just no. I cannot imagine why anyone would stay here, may as well stay at Nusa Hua, which is equally hideous.

Me and my small family feels blessed to be showered with all the kindness from Mandapa ladies and gentlemen during our stay, with the lush of greeneries and forest sounds around this 'sanctuary', it's a pure bliss, a great great getaway from the city. Keep it up guys !! This experience is something different from the usual beach holidays, as the concept is a 'sanctuary' or hiding place in the nice preserved forest. To the following staffs of Mandapa, THANK YOU very much. Check in and arrival - we were greeted by Niti, Benny, Pak Made Kacamata, Anom and Pak Dewa Putra. Check in process was super smooth, we even received a surprise of the room upgrade kind of, to the Mandapa King Suite. Really appreciate all the kindness!! We are soo grateful for this - given the 225 room, a super spacious and well 'curated' suite, as we had many picturesque snapshots during our stay 8n Mandapa. Patih / Butlers - thank you to of course, the one and only Pak Made Kacamata for his care and patience in ensuring our activities here went well and a memorable one. He had worked together with the personal experience team to arrange a very nice birthday deco for my wife in our room. That is a huge effort I can see, great team work to ensure we experience the best!!! Thank you also to Caca (another butler) for being kind enough to fetch us using buggy to our room few times. Kids Club - Special thanks too for Ude, Vanda (Mandapa fitness celebrity), Ardi (intern) and Dina (super friendly laugh machine) for taking care of my daughter, Raisa, throughout our stay. We appreciate your kindness in all the activities that Raisa had experienced. Housekeeping - Thank you to Yudi and Angga for the nice bed decoration complete with bouquet of flowers, petals and balloons, another birthday surprise to my wife!! Sawah Terrace Dinner - To Nova, Irfan, Wiwid, Sudayanti (sorry I can't recall correctly her name) for the services and menu recommendation for my family dinner. We tried the Ikan Bakar (grilled fish), Lalapan (good reason to go to Mandapa and have a taste of it by yourselves), Tumis Genjer, Udang Telur Asin. Sawah Terrace Breakfast - To Dirga, Jordi, Gaga, Pena, Diah, Mia, Vata for the endless smiles and great services. We enjoyed every bit of our breakfast, be it from the counter or from the a la carte menu. We love the Coconut French Toast the most! Mandapa Spa experience - Great massage by Ariani and Ibu Wayan. Not to forget Eva and Ayu, the reception as they were very kind to assist us in using the facilities at the spa. Caca (another butler) was also kind enuff to send us back to our Suite after our spa session. Afternoon Picnic by Ayung River - To Dana and Nicole, for setting up a special place for us nearby Kubu restaurant, by the Ayung River for our picnic. They had served us with the nice tea time sandwich and snacks, just enough for my family. Not to forget, Nicole was kind enough to send us wet towels during our photoshoot around the resort, a very nice gesture and very attentive to details. Ambar Japanese fusion dinner, which is also a cool place for sunset watching - To Alet and Desa, thanks for the chat and menu recommendation. Also to Chef Eli for the nicely decorated birthday cake for my wife! Check out process - super smooth in our suite, done by Pak Made. Ubud has an amazing offering of hotels. If you are looking for the ultimate luxury resort, this is the place you want to go to. Outstanding service, great team, fantastic F&B offering and beautiful rooms. They also have a nice kids club if you want to come with kids.

I had a one of the best vacation ever in Mandapa Ritz-Carton. First of all this is RESERVE, it is not just ordinary hotel in Ubud. They use a very smart all space and became it very convenient and very beautiful in format of calm village in the jungle near the river. When you come to hotel staff already wait for you and warm welcoming you with tasty drink and breath taking view on the top of hotel. You see such a beautiful landscape that forget about all. Need to pay special attention that all staff know your name and they really care about your needs, even if you still don’t know that you want it. For example i walk to breakfast and catch the rain, get wet. Entering in breakfast manager asking me first do i need a warm towel to cover shoulders? It is very very cute. All service a very personalised and for your suite/villa always take care a high professional butler, who solving all your needs. I was lucky and met butler Parmini, the most positive, attentive and caring person! She do a lot small surprises and cute moments during my stay, that i want to come and again get to her! Also hotel arrange a lot of interesting activities like yoga, meditation, walking with guide, educational lessons regarding Balinisian culture. I spent wonderful time to learn a lot of new thing! In general i spend 3 days and only once go out to Ubud city centre for walk(hotel arrange free shuttle). Obviously all infrastructure of hotel organised that’s you are really don’t need to go out of territory. Tasty food in restaurants, interesting activities, Spa and beautiful territory will bring you real aesthetician pleasure. I glad that i choose Mandapa, believe me i stay in many hotels in Ubud and around the world and it is UNIQUE. Will return next year already for one week and to Parmini)))…

Even more memorable than our first visit in 2018 The addition of Ambar (terrace bar) overlooking the lush property really puts it over the top Upon arrival we were each ceremoniously gifted with a red-white-and-black Tridatu bracelet followed by a refreshing juice drink and lemongrass-infused washcloths. Our butler Made drove us in the golf cart to our gated villa with an outdoor living room (enclosed with wall to ceiling windows) next to a private pool overlooking the rice patties, or Sawah. Breathtaking is not a big enough word to describe it. Walking through the front door felt like stepping into a sanctuary. The bathroom was bigger than most hotel rooms and housed my FAVORITE Japanese style toilet complete with motion sensor lid and flusher, heated seat, and adjustable front/rear washers and dryer. My favorite part of every day was breakfast! You are literally eating in the jungle and overlooking the Ayung River. With an abundance of tropical fruits and healthy items that tasted way too delicious to be good for you, I could sit there and eat breakfast all day. They also offer a menu of selections you could order from a la carte - these were also a must! Especially the egg + caviar for me and the coconut french toast for the kids. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available. The breakfast spread here is unlike any other. Southeast Asia just wins at breakfast - moreso than America or Europe. Our unofficial ranking of breakfast after Mandapa: St. Regis Bali, Phulay Bay/Thailand, then the W at Kuala Lumpur. Bonus tip - they will even peel open the sometimes challenging mangosteen and plate it beautifully for your breakfast! You just have to ask! Speaking of the service! Everyone you pass by is incredibly welcoming and greets you as you pass. When calling for a buggy or requesting some ice, the attendant would ask if there is anything else before hanging up. After getting a cocktail at the bar that tasted only slightly less awesome than the one I had before, I was offered a new drink which I most certainly declined. But later I was offered a new cocktail - a light chocolate martini with a mini square chocolate sponge cake inside. We were able to reach our butler Made over WhatsApp and he was able to book our dinner reservations and transportation upon departure. Calls for the buggy always arrived within minutes. Everything was seamless. Another bonus was the wifi - consistent signal throughout the property, including the gym which was air conditioned and well equipped. I didn't book a spa appt because I knew I was going to plan it for our next hotel - the St. Regis in Nusa Dua (a bit more affordable lol) After visiting the Temple, the Monkey Sanctuary, and the rice patties last time, we were able to get a bit more adventurous in 2023 now that the boys were 7 + 9. River Rafting! But not like crazy rapids, just fun ones where the boys didn't even need to paddle lol. Our recreation guide, Oda kept us and the boys engaged and was our personal photographer throughout the adventure. And Captain Morris was hilarious! Even the drive there from the hotel in classic bright orange jeeps was an excursion in itself with designated stops for photo ops! Traveling is our family's love language and although we work full time we've been to 35+ countries in the past decade. As Marrott members, we often stay at these properties and Mandapa remains our #1 (we've been to 3/5 RCRs....for now). I was so sad to leave but we were given a warm farewell with a wave from the team including Resort Manager Reka Yanti. We can't wait to return!…
