we had a one night stop as part of a hiking trip in the Mercantour park. The owners are friendly and present good French cuisine. The hotel however is in need of renovation so if you expect luxury standard, you will be disappointed, but you are in a mountain region, so the level of comfort should not be the top...

If you are looking for 5 stars with hot and cold running servants, go somewhere else. If, however, you want a simple country hotel with delightful owners in a stunning location, give this place a try. O.K, the rooms are a bit tired and I had a tiny shower, but the general friendliness of Jean and his delightful family, along...

The exterior appearance of this hotel is impressive and its location is good. The interior rooms are spacious and I got the impression the proprietors were making an effort to improve the rooms but the management photos posted are misleading and give a false impression of the standard. Myself and my partner stayed here for 3 nights towards end of...

We only use the restaurant. Good quality, good service, and very reasonable price. We took 2 menu (20 euro each), 1 glass of local wine, and 1 coffee. Also nice atmosphere: the chef paid a visit to each table.

Stopped here for lunch 3 times over the past year, each time during motorcycle trip to the col. Price are very reasonable and the lady that served us each time was very nice. I can't comment on the room, but definitely a great idea to stop here for lunch when going up or down the la cajole pass.

As matter of fact the room and the bathroom offer no comfort at all and are not clean. The owners were nice and the breakfast was reduced to the minimum even if of good quality. Impossible to relax in this place and not even to sleep properly. I am sure the owners are slowly doing some refurbishment ( the dining...

We are two middle aged men who travel to photograph wildlife. We stayed at the Hotel La Valliere for 2 nights in July and didn't expect an amazing experience but we didn't expect Ants, around 1 to every 2 feet of floorspace, water leaking out of the bottom of the sink when in use and from the shower tray also,...

A room for 55 euro, what can you expect? Well, no flat screen television, nor a very large bed, but loads of charme come with the property and the reception is welcoming. The owner cooks himself and makes wonderful dishes. he only offers a limited menu, but that guarantees that the food is fresh and in season! There is not...
