BBH is the most perfect hotel we have stayed in as a family of four. From the moment we arrived, we felt that the staff at the hotel genuinely cared that we had the best stay possible, nothing was too much trouble and everyone, from Mr Bengt, the owner, to the groundsmen meticulously trimming the manicured gardens, was warm, friendly and eager to share their passion for what they were doing. We left with heavy hearts as the reception staff waved us off. The kids made us promise to take them back, we cannot wait to return.
Absolutely worth it! Expertly manicured grounds with a main office that is spacious and comfortable. The staff (Isola, Rima and more) there and at the restaurants were very helpful for any need or want. Each week vacationing guests are treated to a Poolside reception frequently attended by Swedish owner Bengt Mortstedt or one of his family. Delightful people. Breakfast are buffet style with an omlette bar. there are two restaurants, one for 'fine Italian dining'. The place books up quickly and rarely available on short notice. The Resort also provides daily shuttle service to Princess Margaret Beach, a short distance away on the Caribbean side and has to rank as one of the best in the Caribbean.
We stayed over New Year in their standard garden view room. The gardens and overall hotel are really well maintained. While slightly off the main tourist area, its a short tax ride anywhere over the island and the hotel is more than happy to sort everything out for you. The food is good and the range is great. At times not everything was available from the menu or bar (missing mango or pizzas one day) which was a shame but there is plenty of choice still. They put on special menu nights which are a great addition. The two pools are warm and well maintained, large enough to do some proper swimming if you want to. A gym is available but there's not a huge amount of equipment, still enough to get a sweat on! There are watersports available free of charge which is a good addition (kayaks, snorkelling gear, paddle boards, body boards) The staff really make the place. They're all friendly and happy to help. At times the service at meals wasn't speedy, but you're on holiday after all! Perhaps some tweaking to organising and internal systems could avoid delays or small misses such as at breakfast time. However I must say that the beach (Friendship Bay) the hotel is on is incredible and the highlight. We've been to multiple islands but this is by far the best one yet. It's calm, shallow gradient (compared to some steep beaches we've been to) and some of the best snorkelling just meters from the shoreline. There was so much to see and even turtles! Thank you to the beach staff for pointing out where to go! The beach isn't private but very few people come to it so it's great to use. I would recommend the hotel to people.…
I booked this hotel as a special treat after a 7 night catamaran charter, a place to get our "land legs" back. We showed up dirty and exhausted. They greeted us at the door like family. We were immediately given ice cold hand towels and a drink. The property is exceptional, spectacular gardens, lovely restaurant and bar areas, beautiful furnishings, very well kept. Our little cottage was cool and spotless, well appointed, very comfortable king size bed. We stayed for 2 nights, enjoyed some fabulous meals, and everyone treated us very well. We used their private airline, Bequia Air, to fly to Barbados to catch our connecting flight home. Again they looked after every little detail, and the flight was quick and comfortable. They deliver excellence. It was truly a privilege to stay here.…
What a delightful place this is! A beautiful location directly on an unspoilt beach. The hotel is very well run with friendly efficient staff, rooms kept exceptionally clean. Good food and onsite entertainment most nights. Lots of boat trips on offer including Mustique and Tobago Quays. Also there are other superb beaches nearby which you can reach by their courtesy open air taxi service. Definitely worth going to Jacks Place on Princess Margaret’s Beach. Comfortable beds provided courtesy of the hotel. To summarise if you are seeking a chill out holiday somewhere to relax and unwind Bequia Hotel is the place to go. Just one tip watch out for the mosquitoes!
