Ok, I fell in love with that place. Take a good Logis/Hotel, Add a owner who is a 'sacree bonne femme' who can cook beautiful meal, waitress that is so nice and aim to please and a clean room that has been just redone. Now, take that, add a great swimming pool, a personal patio with a small table and 2 chairs and drop it right in the middle of a romantic vineyard so quiet you can hear yourself breathe... and here you have, La Closerie.... a secluded retreat to visit the Bordeaux wine.... My recommendation, keep the shutter opened so you can wake up at the song of the birds, while you see the sun raise over the vines.

The rooms are fairly basic but spacious, silent and clean with a nice view on the vineyard. Comfortable bed and large bathroom. Very good food but what makes this little hotel excellent is the wonderful people running it. They made us feel comfortable from the first moment and answer any request with a super positive attitude and a big smile. We really felt at home. Thank you

Anyone who is thinking of staying here should know how amazing the family who run this place are we stayed in the first week of August, sadly on our second day the family lost their father and husband to a long term illness we explained though poor french that we require no more than the beds as we will be in a wedding most of our stay and when we got home that night they had cleaned our rooms and made our beds! I don't think I could stay so committed to customer service in a situation like that! Amazing people, amazing location stunning views, if looking for somewhere to stay in this area don't look any further just book it!

It was a family visit, including granddad, to watch my son play rugby at a tournament in Blaye and didn't I choose well!!!
The rooms functional clean and a perfect size. In this tiny hotel.
& the food!!! Delightful!!!!
& the service!!!! The first night the oysters were finished, so we said how disappointed we were.
The next morning just after a pleasant breakfast amongst the vines, we were asked if we wanted oysters and how many!!! You can't hope for more than that!
A totally delightful experience that I hope to repeat very soon!!!! I just hope the weather's good so I can laze by the pool !
I have recommended this hotel to friends and they were as pleased and delighted with both hotel and restaurant as I was!
The only thing I must do is to apologise to the charming owners for not writing this review sooner!!!!!

If you are looking for a very quiet place, with good food and warm hospitality, than this is the place!
Located amidst beautiful vineyards where you can relax and even have a nice swim in the pool. Breakfast and dinner can be enjoyed on the terrace (depending on the weather of course).
We used the disabled friendly room on the ground floor with a slightly smaller bedroom, because the bathroom and toilet are a bit larger because there is room for a wheelchair, but the room does what it has to do, good comfortable beds an large wardrobe and as mentioned a large bathroom, with walk-in shower.
We had two evening meals (restaurant is closed on Tuesdays) and both meals were fantastic, good and ‘’honest’’ products and perfectly prepared.
To make a long story short: we were very happy to find this place and would highly recommend it.
Thank you Gladys and staff for our great stay!

We stayed here on a stop over on the way back from a camping trip to St-Jean-De-Luz. We needed a quiet hotel with a decent restaurant where it would be safe to park our car full of camping gear.
We enjoyed an afternoon at the pool in the tranquility of the countryside surrounded the vines. In the evening after we had put our child to bed we enjoyed a great meal at the restaurant. We were the only diners and it was like having our own private restaurant. As we sat on the terrace overlooking the vines Gladys served us some great wines and her mother cooked us a fantastic meal. The home made Foie Gras terrine was excellent and I opted for a steak which was cooked to perfection. The selection of local wines were of good quality and very reasonably priced.
I had to laugh when I read the review that said it was possibly haunted. In France if it is windy shutters that are not closed can make noise. The owner of the hotel stays in the building and was always available to help us when we needed something.
The family who run this hotel are nice friendly people and we look forward to staying here again when we return to this part of France. The only problems we had with this hotel is that we did not want to leave the next morning when we had to resume our journey to Bourgogne.

We stayed there in the May of 2011. It's a nice and clean hotel is in the middle of vineyards. Tiny village next to it looked abandoned in the evening. When we got there owner didn't speak a word of English . To our surprise when we asked for a room we got a key to our room and a key to the entire hotel. After that owner of the hotel left so we were left completely alone in the hotel. We had a room at the ground floor with big glass doors/windows. For the night we didn't close the shutters outside our windows/doors. In the middle of the night we heard strange noise and banging on the windows like something was trying to smash them. We woke up and looked outside but there was nothing or no body there. These loud bands on the glass doors and windows kept us up half the night and scared us quite a bit since we were completely alone in the hotel. Room was not cheap and we really didn't get the good night sleep but now at least we have something to talk about :)

We stayed at Les Closerie des Vignes again in May, on our way back to the UK from the Algarve. It is every bit as good as we remembered from our previous stays there. The peaceful and pretty location among the vineyards is wonderful. The warm welcome from the owners, friendly service, delicious food and (of course) great wines make it an unbeatable place to stay near Bordeaux.

Last August we spent 5 days at La Closerie. We enjoyed our stay. The location is beautiful. Rooms are nice and clean. Hosts are very friendly. Only 1 comment though, price/quality of the breakfast could be better.
