We consistently refer back to this restaurant as a performance benchmark for others. Still holds our particular record for best value for €€€s. Seven or eight courses, all extremely well turned out, extremely interesting use of local resources. Deserts were over the top good. €180 with wine. Service was flawless. i.e. encylopedic knowledge of the food and ingredients. Only ding...

We travelled here in May 2011 and I still talk about this experience. The rooms were large but basic, but the location was so ideal. Isolated and tiny village in the hills. The restaurant was unbelieveable! Chef Louis-Bernard Puech was so friendly and genuinely interested in your pleasure.

No surprises. All dishes were well presented and well cooked. The restaurant seems to be a safe bet for a reliably good meal in a pleasant atmosphere. Given the isolated location, it is probably the best restaurant within half an hours drive. What was missing to distinguish Hotel Beausejour from others was the surprise factor. Calvinet is a lovely spot in the Auvergne area of France. The Hotel Beauséjour is the perfect base with an incredible owner/chef, Louis-Bernard Peuch.
