Enjoy your stay in Alba!
Great experience at Hotel Langhe. My wife and I decided to end our Italian honeymoon by exploring the Piedmont area of Italy - mainly for the wine in the region, and to spend time in a not so touristy part of the country. Alba was the perfect spot to explore Barolo and Barberesco - as it’s right in the middle. The hotel is in a perfect spot, out of the Alba town center, but a quick drive, or better yet, bike ride into town. 10 minutes. The hotel provided bikes to use! Highly recommend. What sets this hotel apart is its staff, specifically, the owner - Nico. He accompanied us to a store us to ship our wine back to the US. He didn’t have to do this, but offered and it was hugely appreciated. He also gave us a great day road trip recommendation. Thank you! Nice pool, spacious rooms and a great breakfast setup. Highly recommend this place!…
Rated 3 stars, equating to a 'Good' rating. Was very disappointed on how the hotel handled an item that was left behind. While I was the one that left it, the hotel was very unhelpful in returning the item, although I had agreed to pay shipping. (I was not familiar with how to arrange for a courier service in Italy, and the hotel was too impatient to give me a day to sort out, resulting in the item being lost in the regular mail.) Staff was friendly enough, and the hotel was quaint. Superior room had no windows, only sky lights, which was odd. Shower tile grout was old and mildew stained. Breakfast had a very nice selection, but they took our egg order and then didn't bring out.
We have stayed in a couple of hotels in the region, and Hotel Langhe beats them all. Great location with well maintained features like pool and gym. They are superstars in guest service!!! Nicco and Francesca went out of their way to make everything happen for you. We needed a PCR test over the weekend including results and both made every effort to finally get there. We came as strangers and left as friends. And - we will come back! Stefan&Leonie
Easy parking, nice pool and garden, freindly team make this hotel a very location to stay in Alba and enjoy the vineyards. If you are lucky, you can also use bikes from the hotel and skip the 15 minutes walk to downtown. By the way: excellent pizza 5 minutes away...
if you enjoy one of more of the following hotel features then this hotel is perfect for you the smell of sewage from the stream behind the hotel. if you like to shower with the shower curtain clinging to your body while trying to keep your balance in the tub If you enjoy trying to get Wifi in the room to work (We never succeeded) If you enjoy not being able to control your room temperature (AC is not controlled from the room but rather by the front desk) If you enjoy screaming, crying and yelling from the next door neighboor (hospital) If any of those things are not on your personal priority list then consider finding a different hotel, either more downtown Alba or further outside with a more scenic view On a more positive note then the staff is friendly, and breakfast is average.…
The room was large, comfortable bed, good shower. It’s a very short drive or long walk to the central town. Lovely, friendly staff. Quiet location tucked away from the main streets. We spent only one night but I’d happily have stayed longer. Very good breakfast.
The hotel is five minutes from town but nestled away so you think you are in the mountains of Piemonte. The room was perfect, and the service was over the top. After attending the truffle festival which was so crowded, we could not find our car. The hotel made arrangements for the five minute drive back and the next morning, after explaining to the owner where we thought we parked, he took us in his car and we found it. Definitely stay there again
We agree with most of the positives in other reviews. The setting is great, the host is great, his wines are wonderful, and all worth five stars. But you have to factor in the quirks. Air conditioning at this time of the year is vital. At hotel langhe you may think you have an Aircon controller in your room but, sorry, it’s really controlled by the front desk and never cools below 24 degrees....so it’s hot hot. And your hair dryer will only run for 3 mins before cutting off. Strange you may say....but apparently power cost is a factor at hotel Langhe.....so it is what it is!
We chose Alba as the last stop en route to our daughter’s wedding in Tuscany and we were glad to have opted for a stay at the Langhe. It is a fine establishment on the edge of town and one of the friendliest places at which we have stayed. Breakfast is good, the grounds are neat and tidy and the rooms are elegant and well equipped. The pool is a delight.. But, more than all this, the staff are friendly and welcoming. Just what you need after a long road trip.
Knowing we wanted to be in Piedmont, we were reluctant to stay in any single town and commit ourselves, so we were very happy we chose Alba as a home base. The Hotel Langhe had easy access to Barolo, Barbaresco, and more, but we really enjoyed the historic area of Alba each night. (The hotel provides free bikes to get into town, which was only about a 5 minute bike ride.) On top of that, the hotel itself was very comfortable. We booked the terrace room that they feature in many photos, and it did not disappoint. There were views of the vineyards from the terrace and the room itself was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast each morning was available indoor or outdoor, meaning we were able to maximize our time in the beautiful summer weather.
