Signora Beatrice is a kind woman who loves her city and its history but also a person who really take good care of her customers. Although we couldn’t communicate perfectly in english she provided me with her best service and she also informed me on central sicily’s history and its main industry which is sulphur mining. The hotel room was really spacious with separate shower and toilet spaces. Bed was comfortable and overall the room was well kept. The only drawback is that is not very lit as the hotel is situated in a very narrow street in a densely populated neighborhood.Breakfast is ok and served in the ground floor next to reception. If you wanna feel like home in Caltanisetta, I recommend you to stay in this place!
My husband, daughter and I stayed here for two nights last summer. I chose the location of Caltanisetta because it was midway between the towns of Santa Caterina and Castrofilippo, which is where three of my grandparents were born and raised before emigrating to the U.S. Beatrice, the owner, was curious as to why we chose to visit this part of Sicily. When I explained, with the help of one of her bi-lingual employees, that I wished to visit the streets where my grandparents lived and find out more about my ancestors, she graciously volunteered to drive us to the Registry office in the center of town so we could find out more. So along with another bi-lingual staff member who acted as translator, we did just that! So, yes, the rooms are not fancy and yes, this is definitely more a B&B than a hotel, and yes, this is not a traditionally touristy part of Sicily (we were the only non-Italians staying there at the time), I will never forget the kindness of Beatrice and her staff in their unasked for assistance in my genealogy search. I highly recommend the Antichi Ricordi!…
We were recommended this place by a well known UK travel site. Nothing spectacular & in fact, perhaps a bit amateurish but clean & spacious. They have converted some old buildings. My only gripe was that the rooms were not bright. Good location & the staff are very nice. A bit over-priced for the location. We left after one night.
I hate to say this because the staff was so kind and friendly but this place was not what we expected from the description and photos posted. It just wasn't as nice as they represent it to be. We had trouble finding it due to it's slightly hidden location, up steps from a side street and parking wasn't easy either. The woman at the front desk, actually got into our car and helped us find parking which was shockingly so kind of her. The room itself is very clean and updated. I wouldn't call this place a hotel but rather a Bed and breakfast.
Up a little side street in central Caltanissetta, this hotel is well worth the visit. It’s simple, but very welcoming. The rooms have been renovated with a lot of taste. The breakfast is typical of a three star hotel. The staff are a delight and very knowledgeable about the local area. Definitely the best place to stay in central Caltanissatta.
We stayed at Antichi Ricordi for only one night but were very pleased with our room. Very clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable bed. The breakfast was simple but lovely. Miriam, checked us in and was very sweet and helpful.
We went to Sicily for my nephew's wedding and stayed in this hotel. Very centrical, modern, but traditional at the same time. Well equipped. Breakfast was very nice with healthy local products. The owner always happy to help with a smile in her face. Very good value for money
Wonderful b & b. Very welcoming owner Beatrice. She was so kind and helpful and even drove us to the local market since we did not have a car. The breakfast was good. The location is central. Very economical and the air conditioning always worked. Her staff was wonderful like Mariam and all others. I stayed 5 nights and it was a fantastic experience!
My wife and I were accomodated in a recent extension of the main building (via Providenza, one of the historical quarters). Although the house had not yet been entirely finalized - with small details still needing attention - the quality of the duplex flat was much above what I would expect from a B&B. It was closer to the spirit of a 3-star hotel than that of a B&B. Very quiet at night. Breakfast in the main place was excellent with quite a variety of very decent food. We'll remember especially the freshly pressed oranges (just like at the Bristol Hotel in Paris !!!). Friendly family management.
Antioch Ricordi B&b made with love, all is new, everything well done, very beautiful house and great location. Landlord was very welcome and attentive to us. We had all we need and even more. We will come back here next august again for sure. Grazie mille!
