Our stay at Serra Guarnieri was excellent. We arrived out the blue and were nevertheless hosted with tons of heart and yummy food and excellent hospitality. Valeria's son Eugenio had just been foraging mushrooms in the forest with a friend which were beautiful to behold and even more delicious to dine upon. The local sheep herder also joined us for dinner with his fresh cheese.

The place is a haven, a true homage to nature with beautiful trails and the rocky Serra outcroppings that are gorgeous in any light. We are so grateful of the message of sustainability and environmental consciousness that this place reflects, and the kind hospitality. Look forward to returning with some more time in the future! Definitely a place to call home away from home!

We recommend it to couples, families and friends willing to interact with their environment and meet some beautiful people who are stewards the Earth. Great place for kids to learn about the environment as well.

I was with my family in this place, not far from Palermo (it takes about one hour by car) and very close to Cefalù, to spend my Easter Day. It was a great experience, I'd say out of the blue! Actually, although I was born and brought up in Sicily, I'd never heard about previously...and it's a shame! At our arrival, thanks the warm welcoming we immediately felt at ease. I'd like to mention, particularly, Giuseppe, a very skill guide who led us for a hiking in the forest (60 minutes up hill walk among breath-taking landscapes) and Valeria (who prepared for all of us a jummy and genuine meal). Words can be not good enough in order to describe how exciting is the place and I guess it definitely deserves a stop-over if you come to Sicily and want to experience the happiness to be in touch with nature, between blue sea and green mountains. The fare is absolutely affordable and if you fancy staying for a longtime, you can get the chance to sleep in one of the rooms they've recently renovated... More
