We were in the area and decided to try out a winery. We were extremely and pleasantly surprised by the helpful reception ( I believe the name of the receptionist was Valentina) who was wonderfully exhaustive not only in making the wine-tasting event possible but also by her wonderful tour. We then embarked on a wonderful journey that lead up to the wine-tasting event. We found all the wines interesting and worth the money spent. The prosecco is one of the best ones I have had in this period and the young white is promising as well. My favorite was the red wine which was well-rounded and fruity. We thus decided to have a meal which was delicious as well. I would highly recommend this winery, which I found to be well-organized and worth every dime. The oil by the way is one of the best oils I have had. A mixture of three types of olives that leave a fruity and nutty taste at the same time. I could go on and on. Thank you, Valentina. You deserve a raise!…
first , for the price of the room i find it ridiculous to charge 3 euros for a towel for the pool . noone else around the pool had paid so everyone had their own towels ...at dinner the octopus won the award of the toughest of our sicily holiday. the shower is small and has mold. at 1 am the electricity went off . nobody from management seemed to be on the property., customers returning late could not enter the building due to electrical control started shouting until someone let them in. same thing around 3 am. eventually electricity was reestablished at 4 am. we had to pen the window due to lack of air and no mosquito nets so we spent time battling with mosquitoes. we then asked at breakfast for some explanation, the waiters and reception said that they did not know anything . no apologies, no explanation .appalling lack of management . the 3 best items were the waiter at dinner , delightful , the wine and the pool . for the rest , better to forget , notably in relation to the price…
Visited the winery with a group for a tour and lunch with paired wine. This winery is small, modern, and also has a boutique hotel with pool. Friendly staff gave an informative tour of the winery and surrounding area and Marsala wine history. Anti pasti platter was tasty and typical fare with a delicious local olive oil which we took home a bottle of. Lunch was an organic, gluten free pasta made at the winery that was tasty. A red and white wine were served. Both of which were excellent. If you are in the vicinity it would be worth a visit and change from the old streets and cathedrals site seeing. It reminded me of the small, easy to visit, easy to sample days of wineries in the Napa Valley before they became famous and crowded.
A refurbished baglio which mixes original charm with a modern addition is now an estate with fields of olives, almonds, oranges, capers, grain and grapevines. The rooms are quite comfortable......most with a view of both the vineyards and the sea. A second floor patio also offers sunset views. Everyone on staff is friendly and helpful, and the chef created some wonderfully delicious dinner selections which were complimented by estate wines.
This elegant and carefully restaured Baglio offers the full package of a relaxing and pleasant holiday. In the middle of the Vineyard this walled wine estate contains comfortable rooms and beds, an esthetique environment, an inhouse restaurant and just outside a beautiful and appetizing pool area overlooking the wine fields and Ocean. Free tours of the winery are offered daily and for a reasonable fee you can enjoy a delicious wine tasting after the tour, where you learn the true story about the famous Marsala fortified wine and the authentic Pepito tradition behind it. Staff is very friendly and professional and you are in good hands throughout your stay. An very memorable stay.
We recently spent a week at the Donna Franca as friends had been to an AgroTurismo hotel a few years previously (not the same one). They had such a lovely experience that we were expecting something similar. Although the outside was very pretty, surrounded by vineyards, with a lovely pool, the room was small and plain with a distinct smell of drains coming from the bathroom (although the bathroom itself and shower were fine). The food was a disappointment as it was the same menu for the whole week we were there and we found it difficult every night to choose our meal. The chef was very kind though and upon our request did produce a different meal not on the menu one night. The breakfast was also a disappointment as we were only offered sweet croissants and various cakes . We were expecting it to be out of the way and very quiet so that was not an issue. I think spending maybe 2 nights there would have been alright but a whole week was far too long.…
Lovely relaxing hotel with very friendly and accommodating staff and a fantastic restaurant with excellent choice of food and wine produced in this very place Will definitely be back. The Restarant is highly recommended and the choice of food is to die for. The wine tour was really interesting and our guide, Angela gave us a lot of interesting details about the history of this excellent winery
Very nice place, very nice staff, great wine tour! The breakfast was very good, we spent a couple of hours in the pool, The aperitive at sunset with great view was a very strong point in our stay! We recommend it!
Nice, clean room, excellent outdoor common spaces with a pool and pool chairs, and a balcony to watch the sunset. The hotel offered a free tour of the winery, which was really nice (at 17.30), and then you can choose to book also a wine tasting afterwards, which we did, good wines and knowledgeable guide. The restaurant offers the “normal” Sicilian dishes, ours were quite tasty. All in all we really enjoyed our stay here, and would happily come again.
A good large and clean room with the best bathroom encountered on this trip. Very quiet. Really good service by friendly staff. A really good restaurant with a good wine list mainly of their own wine. Overall, a very comfortable experience.
