The hotel which is over the road from the restaurant, looks like a typical old world Italian building, dated yet full of rustic character... Rooms are basic yet clean but we had a balcony overlooking Capri, bed was OK and even though the hotel is on the main road, we slept OK too. The WiFi does not work, be aware of this. Food in the restaurant was excellent but the owners were hard work at times and seemed like guests were a hassle, maybe tired and overworked, a little like the rooms... A great location for a cheaper option than central Sorrento and the bus stops outside the hotel and takes 10 minutes... We always make the most out of wherever we stay and this place was no different, we warmed to it and really enjoyed our stay in this amazing part of Italy.

Hotel's Favourite
Myself and my husband visited at the start only April, just out if season, so it was quiet, which was nice. The hottub wasn't open, because of the timing I think. I wouldn't say this was a hotel for children as it is quiet, but for us it was lovely. It was our 1st holiday without the kids in 12 years. The rooms are pretty basic, but clean and comfortable. The winning feature is most definitely the view!!! Omg, the views are amazing, the sunsets the night sky, the daytime, its incredible 😍. Now, the family, they have owned the hotel for generations, they're so lovely, so kind and accommodating and beautiful people, and they have a lovely dog 🐕. We went half board! The waiter will come with a 3 course meal, 3 options for each course. Well... there wasn't a dish I didn't like, every meal was incredible, so tasty, massive portions on the 1st dish, we were full, but wanted more. The wine is also beautiful 😍. It's about an hours walk from sorrento or get the bus, the taxis aren't cheap , around 26 euro to the hotel. All in all, if you want a relaxed hotel, this is the one. Thanks

If you're looking for a bright, modern hotel - this isnt for you. But if you want an authentic Italian stay with friendly staff and great food, this is it! We'd read all the reviews before booking so knew pretty much what to expect . Our room was across the road from the main building - it is on a bend and if you have mobility issues, this could be a problem but for us it was fine. Our room was large, basic with a comfortable bed and a safe that was actually easy to operate! The bathroom was large, the shower was good and our room was cleaned every day by a very friendly lady who left fresh towels daily. The garden terrace attached to our room could have done with some tidying up and a lick of paint but it was an extra area to sit out. Food was really good and the staff were very friendly. Yes, there is a difference between where you can sit etc as you are a Tui guest - but this didnt bother us and is only to be expected as we werent paying a la carte prices! The roof terrace is lovely with amazing views of Capri and Vesuvius - the sunloungers were comfortable and the hot tub lovely and clean. There isnt very much to do around the hotel itself in the evening but after busy days exploring, this was fine for us. Buses are good - there is a bus stop right outside the hotel and a lovely beach with bars and restaurants about a 20 minute walk away. All in all, for the money we paid, we were very happy with this hotel and would stay here again.

We have just returned from a weeks stay here and it was extremely disappointing. Not at all the standard we would expect from a TUI recommended hotel. The rooms were very basic and very shabby. There was only plug socket, which we had to unplug the tv to use. The air conditioning was very noising and lit up the room at night. We noticed quickly that the toilet would leak through the day but nothing was done to address this when we reported it. Breakfast was poor, with little choice and food was left out in the open most of the day. One of us is gluten free and it was a chore most days to get any options. In particular, we were given mouldy bread and when this was handed back the only response was that it was wrapped. We didn’t receive a replacement packet. The pastries that were offered were either burnt or only heated in a microwave. The food on the evening was equally as poor. We were only given two options and most days we didn’t manage to eat the second course. It was cold, bitter and clearly the cheaper options from the restaurants menu. We were given a limit time frame to eat to give more time for the restaurant guests, and it was clear from the service we saw them get that we were an after thought. At least twice there were events being held later in the evening that kept the staff preoccupied and we were often left to just wait until they remembered us. The dining area also smelt strongly of cigarette smoke at all times despite the signs stating that smoking was not allowed. TUI describe the hotel as being a 20 minute walk from the beach. Not only is this not the case, you have to walk into the traffic of a very busy road and then down an extremely steep hill. We were also required to cross the road, which had blind bends either side, to get to the restaurant for our meals. Overall, the state of the hotel really soured our holiday and there were times when we considered leaving early because of it. I would have expected more from booking with TUI and I would not recommend this hotel in the future.

The hotel was quite run down and really needed some attention. There was a problem with the drains which gave off an unpleasant odour. Staff seemed more focused on the restaurant side of the business which was across a busy road which we had to negotiate for all meals. We booked via Tui, and this hotel was definitely below their usual standard. The breakfasts were okay, a bit boring and the coffee was definitely instant, but it was plentiful. Evening meals were really good, not much choice but it didn’t matter because the food really was amazing. At the end of the stay we discovered we were being charged for the mineral water which was served with our evening meal - 3 euros each night! Tui guests were treated differently to the a la carte guests though. We were definitely second class citizens and weren’t allowed to sit at tables with a sea view in case a la carte guests arrived. The hotel is a bus ride from Sorrento, it’s not really walkable, and there’s not much to do in the immediate area. We booked lots of day trips with Tui so this wasn’t a problem for us. The hot tub was very small and looked dirty with bugs in the water so gave that a miss. In conclusion, great food but wouldn’t stay in the hotel again.

I booked the holiday through TUI and found it a stress free way to travel. The hotel is a basic but authentic Italian theme which is what we thought it would be and all that we needed as we would only use the hotel as a base and be out everyday on trips. We found it was very clean and the maid gave us fresh towels everyday. The two rooms had exceptional views of Capri and ischia and the balcony room was great as it has sunloungers and a table and chair to relax on or dry clothes. There is air conditioning and a fridge in the rooms where you can store your drinks. If your looking for a hotel to relax by a pool this is not the one. However there is a jacuzzi at the top balcony with many sun loungers with fabulous views. If your looking for a pool we went to the hotel down the road called Melrose which has a pool you can go in for €15. You just need to get there early or else it will fill up. The beach is also around a 25min walk down the hill, you just have to watch out for the scooters and cars as there is no pavement. People have there own options on booking trips by your self or through TUI, however we did all our trips through TUI and found them exceptional, as it takes the stress away of getting around the place. All the trips set of early to which is great as you get to the destinations before all the crowds do. You can also ask to come down for breakfast early so you don’t miss it. The breakfasts are Continental with pastries, bread rolls, pancakes, fruit, lots of fruit preserves and drinks. The evening meals were exceptional! A 3 course meal every night with two choices for each. One of the things I was most looking forward to about coming to Italy was the food and antico francischello definitely did not disappoint. Some of my favourites included the aubergine spaghetti and the veal. We dined in the yellow conservatory area with the local guests and it was great and had an amazing sunset every night. Also a mention to the lovely waiters and waitress who served us each night, and Luigi. You were amazing at explaining each dish to us and made it a whole experience when revealing the food, Walla!! It’s very easy to get into town you just have to stand outside the hotel and flag a bus which comes every 30mins. However getting back is a little trickier. We opted to get on at the bus station in Sorrento as the buses stoped there for longer. Also be aware SITA buses require you to wear masks or they won’t let you on. And also remember to insert your ticket into the machine so it stamps it and you won’t get a fine. Overall I would definitely return to this lovely family run authentic Italian hotel. Me and my family had an amazing time

We booked this hotel as we liked the idea of an authentic small and friendly Italian hotel. What a mistake! The room was dirty full stop. The wardrobe had black, greasy finger marks all over it that we cleaned off with baby wipes, the bathroom wasn't clean, the toilet stopped flushing inrermittently, the sink was scummy and cracked and everywhere, light switches and radiators were covered in a thick layer of dust/dirt. We asked the owner to come with us to hear our complaints but he unfortunately became aggressive towards us and walked off blaming the shortcomings on it being the end of the season! The couple in the room next door said our room was better than theirs as he has got an electric shock from a socket with bare wires. By the end of their weeks holiday neither the hotel or tui had remedied this. You are not allowed to use the yellow part of the dining room at dinner as that is where the owner fawns over his Italian a la carte guests, shame about the dirty tablecloths. The photos on the tui site are totally misleading and the fail to mention the restaurant and reception are over a ver busy, blind bend road. The only plus was the waiters at dinner, they were always polite and friendly. We ended our 11 night holiday here 6 nights early, the soonest Tui could find us another hotel as it was an Italian Bank Holiday week paying an extra £1135 to move to a hotel that was spotlessly clean, had a lovely pool area, and professional staff. It's name was Art Hotel Gran Paradiso which I recommend to anyone with reasonable expectations from their stay. Do not book Villa Pina if you expect any kind of standards of cleanliness and professionalism.

Stayed in a relatively clean room. The lock was hard to use, the breakfast was mainly croissants and breadrolls. Dinner was pasta, veal and spaghetti but all not very hot. Views from hotel amazing, waiters very friendly. Road loud and very busy unfortunately nearly got hit on the zebra crossing as cars do not stop!!

Travelled with Tui and feel their description of the hotel was not accurate. Although the service was excellent, the hosts were welcoming and we enjoyed the holiday I feel I should be honest about the facilities. The room was clean but not well maintained. Guests have 2 choices for each course at dinner which is not restaurant standard. The 20 minute walk to the beach is worth it but down steep paths so more difficult coming back. The roads have no pavements and are really busy so it's not that safe to walk anywhere. Views are amazing especially from roof terrace. Buses are regular and a great way of getting about.

Attic rooms are very small and windows are skylights. It is not the cleanest hotel. Lots of things not up to standard. Door handle nearly came off, cracked basin, poor flushing toilet, no wifi. Attic rooms can only be reached by going up two floors in a small lift then climbing two more flights of stairs. There are no fire regulations or fire escape. To reach the main building you have to cross a road with a blind bend at each end. Not suitable if you are disabled or walk slow. Sewage came down a gully outside the entrance. Rubbish was building up next to main building on view to all. The garden seating area was reached by stairs that had a loose handrail. Only a couple of parasols on terrace. Sockets in room didn’t look safe and tv aerial wire not connected to aerial connection. Springs sticking up in mattress. Balcony had ants around and dirty seating. On a good note! restaurant food lovely and views are amazing.
