We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Marco and Daniela. We were first greeted by Miles, their friendly, beautiful lab, which was indicative of our experiences to come! We had a delightful breakfast waiting for us in the morning and two lovely dinners! We now have the recipes to further solidify our memories in Orvieto! Our room was comfortable and spotless....

Our stay with Marco and Daniela exceeded our expectations 1,000 times. We were so happy we chose this Agriturismo in Orvieto. The rooms were very nicely appointed, and immaculately cleaned and very comfortable. The breakfasts and dinners prepared for us were fantastic. We enjoyed our pasta making class on Saturday morning with Marco. We plan to try some of his...

Daniela and Marco are lovely hosts. Surrounded by the wonderful countryside of Umbria, their graceful, beautifully restored farmhouse is a great home-base from which to explore nearby Orvieto. Breakfast and dinner are scrumptious, with lots of locally sourced cheeses and produce, not to mention the delicious dishes Marco prepares in his cooks' kitchen. And they are both generous with practical...

Taking a break from busy travels, I slipped away to this fabulous retreat spot for a few days of downtime. While so easy to trip into Orvieto and surrounds, it feels like a real escape when you stay onsite. Everything was perfect and so much more. Daniela and Marco are kind, engaging and easygoing hosts and experts for the region-...

My wife, three young children and I recently stayed with Daniela, Marco and MILES (their awesome Lab) as we passed through on our way to Tuscany. The accommodations were absolutely top notch and everything was extremely clean (very important to us)!! Marco is a phenomenal chef and Daniela makes sure you are always comfortable. I loved this place and look...

Before I get to the great setting and food and rooms and location let’s start off with the primary reason Antica Olivaia has earned all of these five-star reviews - Daniela and Marco. The most welcoming and gracious of hosts, authentically Italian yet traveled and worldly. Wonderful to talk with, better to eat with, and a joy each and every...

My wife and I spent 5 glorious days in Umbria, seeing amazing sights, drinking wine of staggering quality, and eating food that was every bit as good as the wine. During these heady days we used Antica Olivaia as our home base and it truly felt like home. Our hosts Marco and Daniela treated us like long lost friends from...

I am finally writing this, I didn't want to because it meant admitting I wasn't there anymore and that I didn't live there, I wasn't Dani's sister and couldn't go back tomorrow and hug Miles the lovely Labrador! Antica Olivaia is heaven on earth. It is a small Agriturismo nestled on a perfect Umbrian Hillside, overlooking the most perfect of...

We stayed with Marco and Daniela for 3 nights in April 2016. We toured Italy for 6 weeks and this was one of our very favorite places. The country location just outside of Orvieto (city can be seen, on a hill, across a small valley from the B&B) is lovely. Our large room was perfect, the breakfast was delicious each...

The "agri-turismso" is in a converted rustic farmhouse that actually overlooks the medieval town of Orvieto in the distance. The owners, Daniela and Marco were always the perfect hosts. Marco would cook evening meals and a culinary maestro he is. Daniela would ensure that all the guests were made to feel at home. Together, they orchestrate an environment for their...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Agriturismo Antica Olivaia is a charming 17th century stone farmhouse nestled in a protected nature reserve and located near the ancient hill town of Orvieto. This recently restored country inn offers its guests six spacious rooms with en suite bathrooms, a beautiful private pool and breathtaking views of Orvieto and the Umbrian countryside. Conveniently located between three of Italy's most beautiful regions, it is the ideal place from which to discover the extraordinary Umbrian countryside and many towns such as Civita di Bagnoregio, Todi, Perugia, Assisi, Montefalco, Spoleto, Montepulciano, Montalcino, and Pienza. The owners, Marco and Daniela, prepare dinner 3 times a week for their limited number of guests and meals are eaten together family style on the veranda under the stars. Informal cooking lessons can also be organized in the afternoons usually in conjunction with dinners. Marco, Daniela and their furry friends look forward to welcoming you to the Antica Olivaia...A slow farm for a slow life! ... more   less
