Nothing pretentious here, just a small hotel near the center of the action, one block off main street. Very clean lobby and rooms. Very quiet. Our room was typical - two twins shoved together, not lot of space (as usual with hotels of this kind in Europe). Friendly staff; good value.

This is worth hunting up. But look sharp as you do it. There is a bronze plaque on the front that "Grand Albergio Italia." Don't split hairs. That's it! The staff is pleasant and helpful. My bed was comfortable. And the effect of the spaces of the old building exotic and mysterious. The location is great. It is a very...

We were dismayed to find no air conditioning when we entered our very hot top floor room (not on yet, in May). But in the evening the room cooled off sufficiently. It was a big room by local standards. The staff was very cordial. Breakfast that came with our tour was good. Some stairs to get to the elevator. Try...

We spent three nights at the hotel with an Odysseus Unlimited tour. We a disappointed with hotel. Definitely not four stars. Our room was very small, the furniture very dated. Only one desk chair in the room; three small cubicles only for clothes. The shower stall was the smallest we have ever experienced. It was smaller than any cruise ship....

My wife and I stayed for two nights with our 19-month-old son. The location is perfect, and there is a nice shared terrace space on the third floor. The room was spacious and well kept, if slightly dated. The service was terrific. We particularly appreciated how the front desk and breakfast staff went out of the way to engage with...

A classy rustic Italian hotel tucked in the city centre of Orvieto. Family room is spacious for four people. Location is convenient to walk to the attractions. It is also near to the parking lots. Took some photos of the room on my camera, will upload them later. Breakfast spread could have been better. Service was ok as well.

Stayed at hotel for 3 nights with a O/U tour. Location of the hotel makes it an excellent choice for exploring the town. Just down the street from the hotel at the Piazza del Popolo there is a farmers market on Thursdays and Saturdays. Fun to wander around with the locals.

Our room was average in size but it was very quiet. The bathroom was large but the shower was very small. The room cards use chip technology & have to be put in a slot for electricity in the room. Your little refrigerator will stop when you leave the room. The include breakfast was OK. For all of the Italians...

During our recent one-night visit to Orvieto, we stayed at Grand Hotel Italia and it proved to be a good choice. It's main selling point is its location....a very short walk to the piazza, the Duomo, shops, restaurants and scenic walks. It is also very reasonably priced, so a good value. Our room was the largest of any that we...
