Without a doubt, the most beautiful hotel in Positano. The views were beautiful when dining outdoors for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Customer Service was 10/10, super helpful and friendly. The only thing is the room was quite basic for what we paid for. Paying AUD $1,600 for one night was not worth it considering the room was super basic and the small balcony. The balcony view was great but not worth that amount of money. I will definitely dine there next time, however recommend not booking a stay as you can get the same views at a lower cost elsewhere.

Still dreaming of our stay here! You will not be disappointed— every detail was perfection. A special shout-out to Liliana… she went above and beyond in her service to us. She booked our beach club, dinner reservations, car transfers, etc. When we checked out she called and said we left our passports in the safe— we were already in amalfi so she had them delivered to our hotel there! Can you believe the service?? It was so so kind. Tony at the pool was so attentive and helpful as well. I also had one of the best massages I’ve ever had at spa and the dinner views were fantastic. You will love it here.

Hotel Poseidon is a family-owned facility in a perfect location to shopping and dining in Positano. From the moment we arrived until the time we departed, we had nothing but a positive experience from the front desk staff, the restaurant (Tridente) food and service, the view from our rooms, the quality of the food, sleep quality, concierge recommendations......everything was perfecto! We were most impressed that the Lillianna, the daughter of the original owners would come by and greet us during dinner. She was so pleasant and positive, really made us feel welcome. Any request we made of the staff was met with a "can-do" attitude which made us feel extra special. While we were touring around the Amalfi Coast, we had lunch/dinner at many other locations and never experienced the quality of food or service we did at Tridente. Worth every dime! …

Hotel Poseidon is truly a gem amongst the sparkling and iconic sea cliff Positano, but Tony the pool manager is surely the prized crown jewel!! Tony’s welcoming nature and attentive service made our day in Positano. Put experience visiting their pool was worth every penny and was so memorable and enjoyable. He has a kind and fun attitude that uplifts all the guests around him and makes them feel truly cared for. He went above and beyond to ensure every desire was met. This was our favorite hotel on our Italy holiday! It is exactly as I had imagined a boutique hotel to be and exceeded the standards of all the other Italian 4!star hotels in which we stayed. Everyone we encountered here was kind and professional! The room and the view were perfect- very comfortable bed and great shower! Breakfast was the best we had this trip! We had dinner at Il Tridente also and it was delicious with excellent service!

Perfect location with breathtaking views. The walk to shops, beach and restaurants was easy and manageable. The staff went above and beyond. Tony in the pool area was so attentive and personable. And the view is absolutely gorgeous. The included breakfast is very good and a great way to start the day. My kids say if they ever return they can't imagine staying anywhere else. They set up car service to and from hotel with excellent drivers. They even made sure we had time for breakfast the morning we left! Highly recommend Hotel Poseidon.

It's not often you come across a place that so effortlessly blends natural beauty, impeccable service, and authentic local charm, but the Hotel Poseidon in Positano does just that - and does it exceptionally well. From the moment we stepped into the sunlit lobby of this family-run hotel, my wife and I were enveloped by the warm hospitality of the staff. With welcoming smiles, they offered us a heartening glimpse into the world of Italian amiability. Their efficient and seamless check-in process set the stage for a stay that was nothing short of magnificent. The staff members at Poseidon are more than just employees; they are curators of the quintessential Positano experience. Every interaction, whether it was a casual greeting in the corridor or assistance at dinner, was characterized by an attention to detail and a deep sense of care. Their suggestions for local attractions, punctuated by personal anecdotes and tips, enriched our experience manifold. The hotel's charm extended to its dining services, as well. Every evening, we eagerly anticipated the cocktail hour, where the hotel's mixologists concocted divine drinks that were a perfect precursor to the culinary symphony that followed. The dinners, served under a blanket of stars, showcased the best of local Italian cuisine, marrying traditional flavors with innovative techniques. Our tastefully furnished room was a sanctuary of comfort and elegance. Boasting a crisp, clean design with tasteful accents of Mediterranean hues, it embodied the spirit of Positano. However, the true showstopper was the private terrace attached to our room. Overlooking the multi-colored cascade of Positano's homes against the azure backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea, it offered a view that was truly a feast for the eyes. Waking up to the radiant Italian sun spilling over the terracotta roofs, sipping a cup of freshly brewed coffee while soaking in the panoramic vista, and ending the day with a serene view of the moonlit sea - every moment on that terrace was a postcard-worthy experience. It was a private slice of paradise that epitomized the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. The hotel's location was the icing on the cake. Nestled in the heart of Positano, it provided the perfect base to explore the labyrinthine streets adorned with local boutiques, enticing eateries, and vibrant art galleries. And after a day of exploration, returning to the soothing calm of Hotel Poseidon's beautiful pool area was a delightful respite. In essence, Hotel Poseidon offers a taste of the good life in Positano. It beautifully orchestrates an unforgettable sojourn with its mesmerizing views, heartwarming hospitality, delectable dining, and the tangible aura of la dolce vita. My wife and I left with memories that are as vivid as the sun-drenched cliffs of Positano and as sweet as the limoncello we savored on our terrace. I took my daughter & son-in-law, and my son here in June. We were doing a memory tour in Italy in honor of their father, my husband of 50 yrs. who passed away last year. He loved our travels in Italy. It was an emotional and special time for us. Liliana knew this, and when we arrived I found I was upgraded to the Suite Liliana which meant so much to us because we knew what a special place that suite is to their family at HOTEL POSEIDON. I loved every single minute I spent there , you can see the sea from the bed on the 2nd level. It has a beautiful bathroom I loved, two levels, 1 and 1/2 baths, and a wonderful balcony, such a charming suite. All of our rooms were lovely and each had a gorgeous view of Positano and the sea. This hotel is in a wonderful location, the stairs to go down to the town are very close, and you can walk up a road when coming back to the hotel instead of the stairs if you want, which is easier for coming back. They helped me arrange a transfer by van from Rome, and then back to Rome when we checked out. We had a professional friendly driver with a luxury van for a reasonable price, and I was so happy to have their help arranging that. From the minute we arrived until we left all we saw were friendly, helpful staff who always had a smile for us. The front desk is exceptional, anything I asked help with they found a way to arrange for us or make calls for us, thank you so much. Breakfasts are a treat, all varieties of food, yogurt, good scrambled eggs, bread, croissants, pastries, cheese, juice, coffee (cappuccino! espresso! Americano). To sit out on the patio with those views you don't want to leave. The dinner we had at Il Tridente, their restaurant, was one of the best we had in Italy. The service was definitely the best, I was most impressed. Wonderful pastas & desserts. Loved the elevator, loved how clean everything was, and there is a turn/down service too in the evening. Drinks on the terrace by the pool are amazing with stunning views. Every day I was greeted by Liliana asking about our day and checking on me. The decor was so much fun to look at. I just walked around looking at the pictures and lovely elegant furniture. One evening we went to another hotel by boat for drinks. My daughter couldn't wait to leave there and get back to the HOTEL POSEIDON, after 2 drinks we left and came back and had drinks out on the terrace at our hotel, with live music. I hope I can return one day, right now I'm reading the book 'One Italian Summer' with my daughter... which takes place at the HOTEL POSEIDON so I can keep the memory going. This hotel was the highlight of our honeymoon! I had read a review somewhere describing it as a ‘luxury hotel with a family feel’ and it’s exactly that. From the moment we arrived and throughout our stay the staff have been so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The room we had was fantastic with a beautiful view of the mountains, city and ocean. Food was delicious (would recommend booking a table at Il Tridente). And the cherry on top of the cake was the pool and terrace with unmatched views. Could not rave more about this hotel. It was clearly evident all the staff genuinely cared about their guest’s experience and time at Hotel Poseidon. We cannot wait to come back!!

We were recommended to the Poseidon by an old friend of mine who had stayed there regularly for many years. We were not disappointed. It is a superb, if somewhat old school, hotel and is very well placed in the small town of Positano - not too close to the tripper chaos of the lower town near the beach and not too far up to hill to walk to and from the beach with ease. In terms of quality the hotel is difficult to fault. The service was exemplary - nothing was too much trouble. The staff in the restaurant and the bar were all first class - delightful to talk to and highly competent. The food in the Terrace restaurant was always excellent. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate for every taste with eggs and omelettes etc cooked to order in front of you. The terrace overlooking the port was a wonderful place to have a pre-dinner drink or two. One of the great merits of staying at the hotel is the parking arrangements. Just turn up to the front door and a man parks your car for you in their own garage. Simple! Downsides? One cannot ignore the cost. It is not a cheap place to stay, but that, of course, gives it a pretty exclusive atmosphere. Also the room was somewhat on the small side in relation to the cost. Adequate, and reasonably comfortable with a good bathroom and a terrace with fabulous views, but slightly old fashioned in modern terms. But that again gives the hotel its atmosphere of old school class. The main downside is Positano itself. It is horribly overrun during the day with trippers on the numerous boats from places like Amalfi and Sorrento. It is, in my view, simply too small to cope, and like so many legendary tourist destinations is, I fear, in danger of losing its unique identity under the sheer weight of tourism. For that reason I doubt we'll be returning to the delights of the Poseidon any time soon. Sorrento, which we visited by car, we found to be a proper Italian town and by no means unpleasantly overrun like Positano. But if Positano is on the itinerary, and you can afford it, then I cannot recommend the Poseidon highly enough. …
