This little family-run hotel is a true gem; fab location on the Amalfi coast in the cutest little village without too many tourists, great value and very charming if you do not require a vast number of facilities or five-star luxury. The family is super...More

The view is very beautiful, you see the sea from the bed, with a large balcony.
The personal very kind, helpful.
What I have to recommend, is maybe changing something with the breakfast. For us it was...More

Yes, it really is a delightful place. The owners are very hospitable and will do everything they can to make your stay comfortable. They do have a lovely restaurant that serves breakfast (included), lunch and dinner. The food was very good. We walked down the road a bit to have dinner at another place one night. Go to Trip Advisor to find the top dining places nearby. Open Gate sits high on a cliff overlooking the ocean. You can walk to the beach, but be prepared for a long walk down and even longer walk back UPHILL! You have to go about a mile down the road to get to the path down to the beach. We walked down, but not all the way to the beach. Nice walk. The beach is very tiny. Check out the old Roman Tower where an artist, Paolo Sandulli lives and works. Amazing! I chose Praiano to stay because it is not as touristy. I am so glad I did. Driving on the Amalfi Coast road is also quite an adventure, but fun!
I hope you enjoy your trip. Such a gorgeous place to be!
