My time at Kamarina was exceptionally special as, although rightly rated 3 Tridents due to the age of the village, it was down to the excellence of the Club Med staff led by the wonderful Camille that made it outstanding. An English woman on her...More
Club Med are a disgraceful organization for not decommissioning this rotting pile of 50’s concrete years ago. The buildings and bed rooms are so poor it’s almost depressing. We paid luxury holiday prices and had a lower than budget holiday experience. If you or your...More

We stayed in a very spacious family apartment in the village last time, with two bedrooms and a big living room, two showers. Five single beds, one super king plus a cot! Quite rustic but comfortable enough and clean. We were very happy there, although ants are often an issue.
We stayed in the hotel the first year and found we didn’t like it so much. Less space, centrally controlled aircon (individually controlled in the villaggio) and even more dated than the village. Overall we would choose a village apartment or bungalow every time.
There is an amazing museum of Kamarina at the top of the hill outside the resort if you go up the main road, but it’s quite a walk; the resort itself is immense!
You’d need to cycle or drive to the nearest village, Scoglitti, which has an expensive but nice raw fish restaurant (as long as you stick to the antipasti and primi, don’t bother with the secondi), in Scoglitti, the nearest village, just down the hill from Kamarina museum. However it will be too hot in the summer to cycle (40 degrees plus?!)
There are bikes for hire in the resort, yes but you can’t use them in the resort.
If you want to rent a car for a few days do it online not through ClubMed, you’ll get fleeced !
My advice is: Just lower your expectations re rooms and you’ll have an awesome time; you’ll only sleep in your room as you’ll be so busy with all the fabulous sports activities on offer. Good luck and enjoy!
