Went on a truffle hunt with the owner of the farm and his dogs. Very successful. The dogs found pocketsful of truffles. Then we had Sunday dinner at a long table with the family and other guests. The food was delicious, multiple courses with wine. We checked out a room so we can return and stay there for a leisurely... More

Many celebs from Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford to other actors, show up here and hide from the view of the public for a tranquil, clean air get away. Personally the air is the cleanest you will find with a great family of centuries farming this land. Good simple people who want the best for others. Its like a time... More

The Bartoli's have farmed this huge property since 1750. While there is little English spoken, this part of the charm living with cattle, horses, sheep, goats, truffle sniffing dogs and families of cats. The accommodations are simple but well heated and appropriate for the conditions. The Bartoli family all take part in running the farm and will be sitting down... More

Way off the beaten track, this place made a lasting impression on us. It is a working, family-run farm and feels like it is run as it was several hundred years ago. At dinner, the head of the table was reserved for the patriarch. His favorite granddaughter was the only woman allowed at the table; all the others remained in... More

As part of my trip to Umbria organised by CIT in Australia with Living Italy I had the special opportunity to go truffle hunting with Luca and my guide Christina from Living Italy. The drive to Bartoli Patricio is wonderful- narrow road, full of panoramic views- so it was great that I was not doing the driving. Upon arrival one... More

Amazing truffle hunt and meals. Perched on a hill overlooking the Umbria valley, it is the quintessential Italian experience. The friendliness of the owners sent us over the top and this place was the highlight of our trip for sure .

Where do I begin... we had the most amazing time! I was traveling with my husband and my adult son. Although we only spent 3 days here, All three of us agree that this was the best part of our 3 week trip to Italy. We went horse back riding to the top of the mountains, the view was breathtaking.... This review is a year late, but you know how life gets busy. We discovered Agriturismo Bartoli May 2009 thanks to Justen at www.loveumbria.com, who helped us find a truffle hunt and pasta class. The drive up the mountain was beautiful and the views dramtic and peaceful. This is a self-sufficient, working farm, far from anything! We had a wonderful... More

The other agriturismos we stayed at didn't have much "agri" in them. Not this one -- it's is a real farm, and it's on top of a mountain. OK, there's a downside: there are lots of flies. The upside: incredible homegrown and cooked dinners, amazing views, and a really authentic experience. The room was pretty basic, but who cares? The... More

Pietro and his family took such good care of us, from the truffle hunt to the fantastic lunch. You could not get any better service than Agriturismo Bartoli. This is a place you would want to get away from the paparazzi and enjoy your life. The farm is fantastico with Chianina steers, cows and Morgan horses, how could you ask... More
