Not the easiest place to find and when you do parking can be a drag. Lovely mother and daughter combo ran the office all be it for a couple of hours a day. You are given a key for access for when they are not around. At check in I inquired about the Hotel restaurant and bar they show on the site. That was actually one of the reasons we chose the place. Closed we were told for our entire stay. So much for that then, plenty of spots in the area however. The place is charming but tired and needs a bit of TLC. The breakfast is the biggest joke of all. Please don't bother to get up for it. Check it out if you dare we thought over all it was a joke and at some point a TV crew would pop out and surprise us.lol.

In the middle of the old town of Vasto (so no way you can park your car easily) we found this b&b, very appropriate to our needs: we had a very clean room, a very quiet night and a very italian breakfast (like in the most places we stayed: sweets all over (we like plain yoghurt, fresh fruits and different kinds of cereals better) but also everywhere with the best coffee ever!). Do not forget to stroll the old walls (just around the corner) and make a tour before you pick your restaurant for dinner! There is a large choice.

The hotel is well-located, just a block off the via overlooking the beach (far) below. The staff is friendly, but didn't really help when we asked about the internet connection. It was strange: my iPad could connect to the hotel's network, but there was no internet connection possible. Then a few minutes later it would work on my phone but not on the computer. Breakfast choices are limited to sweet pastry, with no cheese or meats. I wasn't impressed with Vasto, so am unlikely to return, but if I did I'd look for a different hotel.

We stayed at Locanda dei Baroni for one night. It was the perfect location to explore the old city from with lots of lovely restaurants over looking the ocean just around the corner. There is a lovely spiral staircase but they also have an elevator so very easy to get your luggage up to the 3rd floor! The room was very large with a comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was very good, it was a hand held shower head over a bath but that was not a problem at all, plenty of hot water. The breakfast was a nice continental selection with coffee or tea. The staff were very lovely and very welcoming. Even though they didn't speak English it was very easy to understand what they were telling us. The price of the room was very reasonable as well! The streets a small surrounding the hotel but have plenty of room to drive down, we managed to get a park right out the front of the hotel and left the car there the whole visit with no problem while we walked around the town. I would highly recommend staying here!

The owner of this hotel is supposedly a Baron , well he acts like Basil from Fawlty Towers . The hotel itself looks nice and is in a good location , however wi-fi service is terrible or just not working, hot water cycles from hot to cold no matter that Basil assures us it is fine, shower is located in the bath with no shower curtain so unless you sit in bath the bathroom and toilet get a good soaking, toilet seat was chipped in several places, breakfast is served strictly from 8.00am not 7.55am or 7.59am but 8.00am. The Baron himself could be described as possibly the rudest person in Italy , which was how my friend an Abruzzo native described him. With so many beautiful and accomodating hotels and hosts in Abruzzo why subject yourself to the bumbling Baron stay elsewhere.
